Why is the slope of the line represented as "m"? please help me... This is our assignment.

I also never knew why slope of lines are always represented by "m", but I highly suspect they must be the initial of a Latin or Greek word that renders the representation. Try to search about this online via search engines and see what the results are. By the way, it seems a pretty short but difficult assignment you have there.....

no one really knows where they got the "m". it might mean "monter" a French term which means to climb. or maybe it can stand for "modulus of slope".
