Would you like to carry credit cards,ATM,cash, checks,IOU's (hehe)? I personally like credit cards. I feel more secure using them and the fact that the money don't immediately come out of your pocket makes it even better. You get what you need and want and you pay at the end of the month. You have a whole month to come up with the cash to pay for the stuff you want now. You can not do that with checks or cash or even ATM. These payment method would require you to have that in your account for you to even use. So what is your preference?

Bank card because I hate carrying cash around (you never know) and I feel cool swiping my card and paying off something I've been saving up for.
I also like online buying (i.e. paypal) because I often forgot I bought something on eBay and get surprised a week later with a game or something that I was excited about.

That sounds great. My sister does that too. She buys stuff on ebay either for her or for someone else and she forgets about it and when it comes it's like Christmas all over again. LOL.

Yeah, I know it sucks really when I go get some food or dessert from those Asian shops they demand cash only. Huge sign saying CASH ONLY. But actually for their own benefit they should take credit card because less fake money going through their hands. Man the other day the manager at the Gap caught this guy using a fake $100 and man it look totally like the real thing. They can now print on the real thing so when you use currency pens on them they will say it's the real thing. It was a real $1 bill that they printed $100 on top of. Real good at it man when I saw it I was shocked.

What I normally do is keep my money in the Bank and then I have Bedit Card or ATM Card with me along with a smll amount of cash to meet immidiate expenses! When ever I am going for shopping or other places where I need to spend money I withdraw trhe cash and spend the cash only! I am strictly against credit cards as there is no check then on spending! By using your debit card you can have check on your spendings and you will not spend the money in haphazard manner or you prevent your self from instictive or compulsive shopping attitide ! I even don't use my debit card for paying bills at shops or Malls as they attract about 2.5% extra as service charges!
Thsnks ! It was a nice discussion!

Yeah if someone took your wallet or purse they can use the money no trace no nothing. Your out of luck. But if it is a card you don't have to pay just file a report and close all the accounts and reopen new ones while they are investigating and frozen your current account. Thanks....

I also like atm cards because you can check your balance in your account and know how much you can take out.

Yup, ATM's are great you have a record of your spending instead of cash where you don't have that advantage. Sometimes I would look in my wallet and my $20 is missing I think to myself hmm where did I misplace it, but then with some long thinking I realized I used it to buy little knick knacks. But, sometimes I use the cash so fast I don't remember what I did with it.

I do not use much of credit card. I plan never to use credit card but sometimes end up using the card. Otherwise I use my Debit card or sometimes cash.
Well I always try not to use my credit card.

Yup I hear you. Most people I know say the same thing you do. They find it crazy that I will always pull out the plastic even if it is like 10 bucks but this system works for me. I know how I spend my money and where I spend it at toward the end of the year. Thanks for the comment.

I like to have cash or debit. Mainly because I dont like to be in debt. I would just rather know it is mine and I dont owe anyone for it.

Yup, I hate being in debt too. That is why when I was in my younger years I used only cash. Now, I want to say I am a bit wiser with age so I can hold back buying what I want and only use it to buy what I need. I just like it being so convenient to use. Thank you for your comment.

Although PayPal is my favorite kind of money, credit cards are nice, too, especially the ones that give you cash back on your purchases. I think in the next 10 years or so, the shape and capability of credit cards will advance considerably. It is nice to have a little cash on hand for emergencies, but I don't like to carry cash. It has lots of germs on it and takes up too much space in a wallet.

Paypay charges a fee that's what I don't like but I do like it's convenience-ness. Yeah as time goes by things get more advance not just in technology for machines but for everything else. Like that saying for everything else there is that mastercard LOL. I like plastic because it convenience and easy to use and you have a whole month to pay them back no fee no hassel. Thanks....

With all the credit card fraud cases in the country, I stick to cash. I like the convenience of using the credit card but because of all the reports of people stealing your credit info and using it up to your limit, I use it only in reputable establishments. Another thing, I don't like about credit cards is that sometimes you go over your budget.

Yeah that is one thing that totally sucks and many more if you read the other post about the cons of using the credit card. I too have had the misfortune of someone stealing my credit card too and it took a while to fix the problem but it got resolved. We just find solutions to try and prevent it from happening again.

For me, I prefer to carry cash for daily basis. I used to carry credit card and ATM but unknowingly I used to spend so much money. Therefore, I stopped that. If I carry cash about $50 I know that I have only this much of money so I think twice before I spend. In that way, we save $$$. But, when I travel I make sure I carry credit card and cash.

Yeah, I did that too when I was young. Then I went toward only using cash and ATM. But, now that I am older I like the convenience of a credit card. Only because I have kids in one hand trying to pay with another hand. It better for me to slide that card then to fumble for money and change. Thanks....

Heck yah, the many disadvantages of a credit card. This is the price we pay for convenience sake and for the luxury of getting something and not have to pay it now. It's great but if you don't know or have a way of controlling your urge to spurge so to speak then don't use the credit card. Cash would be best for people in that catagory. Thank you for your comment.

CASH!! The idea of pulling it out and giving it away saves me from alot of unecessary spending which I can easily do with credit cards.

Like they say CASH is king lol. Yeah a lot of people seems to like carry cash. For those who can hold back and use the credit card right then this is a better way. But, whatever works for you would be the best way for you and for others whatever works for them. Take care and thank you for your comment.

i am a cash person. i only carry my ATM when i needed to withdraw money. i only withdraw money which i know is necessary. when going to shops, i buy things which will only fit into how much money i have in my wallet. i just try to pay things within my reach. i always lived this way and i am happy with how i do things. no credits to think that i should pay at the end of the month, etc.

I like to carry cash because I then know what I ca spend. With a credit card you can spend what you want but then later you might not be able to pay for it. I used to have credit cards but spent way to much money on them.

I still prefer to use cash when i pruchase or do transactions. Eventhough the trend now is to carry "plastics" (e.g. credit cards, atm, etc) i still think that its convenient to carry cash. Of course not so large an amount that would risk you to being holded up or whatever, but just enough to make you spend for your necessary day to day transactions. Well, atm is also convenient to carry coz if you run out of cash, you can just search for a nearby atm and withdraw your earnings.. As for credit cards, not all companies here in our place accepts credit cards, so it is still better than you have cold cash ready. And besides, i know some people who are not so well in managing their finances that they tend to bloat up their expenses because of purchasing so many things on credit (using credit cards). At least, since i dont have any credit card.. i wouldn't be tempted to purchase just about anything (even unnecessary things) that i find pleasing to buy.. on credit.:-)

I like to put everything on a credit card and then just pay that off once a month. I find it more convienent than carrying around cash and when you use debit you get charged per transaction. Credit card is just easier for me.
