To make smaller, transportable, useful with comfort and if is possible,to make smaller energy use. There is a succession of fundamental process that affect technological devices.Example: the memory. I remember my first PC had 80Mb of hard disk capacity and there are only Floppy disk. Time changes. Now Pen Drive can have one or more gigabytes. But look at the image: 1Gb in 1987 and 1Gb in 2007.. What progress!!

People already have much more than 1GB hard drives. There are 1TB hard drives, which is 1 terrabyte, or 1024 gigabytes, or 1,099,511,627,776 bytes. Some configurations even have multiple 1TB hard drives in a RAID array, providing up to 4TB of space in one hard drive.

I wouldn't want to have that 1GB momery on left side on picture 0.o But I bet it makes really strong magnetic zones, propobly it's not really good to stay near to one of them xD

That picture DOES bring home the changes in computers in the last twenty years. * I was laughing at a comparison of two computers decades apart that did the same job...one the size of a room and one able to fit under a desk and chuckling...but this brings the concept home even better...
