Tomorrow a hurricane will hit..will you evacuate

You get the news on tv..A category 5 hurricane will make landfall tomorrow morning at 6:00 am . What are the steps you will take.? Will you board up your house and head for the highways..or will you choose to ride the storm out and see what happens. I know having seen the effects of Katrina and other huge storms I would be high tailing it to the nearest expressway and moving as far away as possible. I don't think our State would be in danger..but if we were if for some strange stroke of misfortune the hurricane bands would expand this far inland, I would take the warning and head wherever authorities suggested.. What about you?

Hi littlefranciscan! If ever some strange stroke of bad luck a hurricane threatened where i live, I will surely get out taking all of my family with me. I would not take any chances and risk our lives. I will be as cooperative and obedient to the authorities as i can muster. hehe.. take care and have a nice day. :)

That is great that you wouldnt stick around..Unless I had a waterproof unbreakable vessel that can roll with the punches of a hurricane. I wouldn't stick around..:)

I would get my family and get out!! There is no way I would stay there. If I had no money, I would look all over the house for any change I had and head for the gas station. I would go as far as my vehicle would get me.

Good for you ..this is the way to be..I am sure you will get pretty far.. I would say I would get out and walk if my car ran out of gas..You can get pretty far walking when you have too:)

There's no way I'd want to ride out a hurricane! I seriously doubt that we'd have have one where I am, but if I were ever to be in a place where there was a warning, I would leave in a hurry. I'm no hero...

I wouldn't know what to do or where to go. It would be pretty scary. We don't live in an danger area either. Tornadoes would be another story.
