We all have our favorite holiday movies. What's that 1 movie or Christmas special that it's just not the holiday season until you've seen it? The one that you just HAVE to watch every year or the season just isn't right.
When I was a kid, it was Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Then when I got a little older it was Smokey Mountain Christmas. Now it's Polar Express. I just love the movie and the whole feeling it leaves me with.
How about you?

Can you still hear the bells? I love the Polar Express too, we watched last night, I have it on DVD. But, the two movies I have to watch are White Christmas, we have all watched that Thanksgiving evening for as long as I can remember, that and Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation, omg, that's our families! LOL We even have an Aunt Bethanie! LOL well that's not really her name, but she sounds just like her! I also love Scrooge with George C Scott.

Oh yeah, I can still hear the bells.
I love Christmas Vacation. I watched it last week and couldn't help but think of a friends daughter. She's almost 10 now, but when she was 4 or 5 her grandmother taught her to say grace, and decided that she should say grace before the family's Chrismas dinner. Apparently, she folded her little hands and bowed her little head and said "I pledge allegiance..." The grandmother had been teaching her the pledge as well, and she apparently got them mixed up.

For me it's the movie "I'll be home for christmas", and when I was growing up it was "Santa Claus" with Tim Allen?
^_^ Those movies kinda just have always set the mood for me, lol.

I have to go with the old ones like It's a Wonderful Life, Dickens Christmas Carol which has been remade a couple of times but I like the older black and white one. Then I still like Miracle on 34th street. I also have to watch the old animated ones. I think Polar Express and The Grinch are two of the better new ones.

I always start of my Christmas season by watching "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby, Danny Kay, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen. The warmth and kindness of that whole film just gets me going in the right direction for Christmas. After watching that, I start moving on to the other movies that I love so much. The Santa Clause (with Tim Allen) and subsequent sequels, Christmas with the Kranks, The Polar Express (yes, it's a WONDERFUL film), Elf (this one makes me laugh like no other!) and many others. I even watch the specials on tv when they come on.
Merry Christmas and have a wonderful holiday!

I feel like I've answered this question a bunch of times and I hope people don't think I'm copying and pasting my own answers! ha ha.
A Christmas Story.
It's always been A Christmas Story long before the 24-hour tv marathon. We had it on tape and we'd always watch it every single christmas. So for me, it's A Christmas Story. I watch the Marathon and my dvd! I love it.
Scrooged is another staple. I LOVE Bill Murray. Seriously, I'd marry him except that he's older than my parents and that's a little weird. But I love him. That movie is just the best movie.
Elf is also another great one.
and of Course Home Alone (the second one too but it doesn't beat the first one)
but I can watch Home Alone any time of the year!

I always have to see those old stop motion animation holiday movies, like Rudolph and the Island of Misfit toys. I watched them on the abcfamily channel all the time when i was a kid. My favorite one is The Year w/o a Santa Claus, LOL.
