What is bothering me is why is he charged with manslaughter and not murder? Did he or did he not murder this child with his force? Funny how he did not “intend” to do but admits to doing it to her before in other articles……in other articles it also says she had an injury to her abdomen just six weeks prior in which this guy was the prime suspect but it could not be proved…..how weak are those who pray on the young and innocent and in this case obviously ill. RIP Liliana

He didn't do that with the intent on killing her. If he had wanted to kill her, then it would be murder. For example, a person that drives drunk and kills another person in a car accident will be charged with manslaughter because their actions are deadly without them meaning to kill someone.

lack of skills dealing with his own daughter?
sounds weird. if she suffered abdominal injury then why wasn't she in the hospital or at least taken to a physician? it's not lack of skills, it's lack of care.
which is sad, since she is his own flesh and blood.
I hope he is put in jail where he'll find his match. Abdominal injury will be the last thing he worries about

sorry I missed the part that she is not his own flesh and blood, maybe this is why he did that to her. he couldn't care less about her well being. but I still hope the same for him.

Even at the age of 45, if I have to vomit, I vomit...no bucket, no toilet....when it comes, it comes...Trying to make a 3 year old use a bucket..she can't control her vomiting.....This guy is just plain cruel..He says he didn't mean it, well he meant to scare her and by scaring her it turned out for the worst...How sad...It just breaks my heart to hear this...I am not sure about manslaughter vs murder...

Hi Lifez2short! That is horrible! I think it should be murder. You step on a child with full force like a raging bull and you will say you don't intend to kill? That is absurd. I just hope he will get what he deserved when he is put in jail. Take care and have a nice day. :)

Didn't intend to hurt her... Hmm I am a grown adult and if I was pushed on the stomach with both hands it is going to harm me. Sick guy deserve to rot in jail forever. That is so cruel.

He should be punished, at least from criminal misconduct. If a child is ill, she does not have the wherewithall of running to the toilet. Why didn't he do what any parent does, pick the little girl up and carry her into the washroom, and place her so her vomit goes into the toilet?
He also pressed on her stomach before. So why was he not cited for child abuse? It may have not been first degree, but isn't second degree a better option than giving him manslaughter? He did show the option to harm.

Why indeed! And if he was a prime suspect in an abdominal injury why wasn't she taken from the home and put somewhere safe? There are agencies that are supposed to protect children but unfortunately sometimes it seems they don't do a very good job of it. I hope this "father" gets life in prison but I seriously doubt it.

It is indeed funny how so many guilty get away with so mch. And to kill a child should never be plea bargined on. And no matter what we do to try to stop it even after one if locked away it seems 2 take their palce.
