Nowadays the computer virus becomes much more serioius. I am using two anti-virus softwares at the moment. One is Kingsoft and the other is USB Killer. I really like USB Killer because it is small but useful. It ever killed a very terrible virus for me in the past and now my computer is fine.

I first used Norton. My brother's son (computer man) said it is not good.
Next my nephew who is in Michigan USA took my computer to his hand from there and loaded spyboot. My brother's son said it is not effective.
I heard from Willimsijir(china friend) suggested AVG. I downloaded it. Again my brother removed it and put avasti.
I still have virus and plannig to allow one virus to fight against the other hoping that I will have peace of mind!.
Don't you feel the Antivirus companies are crooks, allowing us to use free their software and later suggest we should buy their products so that all viruses can be removed. What a black mail!! Did you check you PM?

I think you need to get professional advice rather than random family members. Spybot is an antispyware program, not antivirus. It's nice and free, but not the most powerful. Avast and AVG are both free. AVG ranks very low in virus detection and removal. Avast ranks higher, but still not as high as the best paid antiviruses. If you want the best, go with NOD32 or Kaspersky. Those are consistently rated higher than any other antivirus. Only use one at a time. You should never have to antivirus programs installed at once
You can still have multiple antispyware programs though.

I'm using the mcafree anti-virus. So far, it kept my computer safe from any viruses that tried to attack it. Like from a flash memory, once plug in, it will kill the virus the second it detects it.

Viruses are really dreadful nowadays. With that, I think you should definitely need a good antivirus. But having many antivirus at the same time in your system, is not suggested. That may harm your system itself because of conflicts. I suggest you go for one of them and regularly update the definitions.

I use AVG and Antivir. And for those that say its not recommended to have two, I had AVG catch one thing Antivir didn't, and one thing Antivir caught that AVG didn't. It happens. Nothing serious though too if you are asking, my computer is still alright. Also, you should invest in an anti-spyware program to assist since some of the malware is through browsing and hides in that respect. A firewall is good too. Oh and using a USB as a remote antivirus is a good idea if you deal with other people's computers or a case where the computer is seriously infected and will interfere with any anti-virus/anti-spyware attempts. That happens too.

Oh before I forget, do not run them together. And you are really asking for trouble if you try the full scan with both antiviruses at the same time. As for anyone else reading this, 1 antivirus should be fine, but its your choice.

I've seen cases where people are safe with them, but its usually free and well known programs. Doing something like putting Norton and Mcafee together is just asking for problems. Plus you never want to run the full scan of the two anti-virus probrams at the same time (that's what I was trying to get at).
I've said its good to have a second program/opinion on hand as I described in a case earlier.

Hi... I am not sure if you are aware but you should only use ONE anti-virus program.
Using 2 will cause conflicts, corrupt your system and cause your computer to crash.
You are really lucky if your computer has been doing fine with 2 anti-virus programs.
I strongly suggest you use just one. I personally use AVG free. You can always scan your computer regularly using many virus scanner... but keep just one on your computer.

Honestly, my friend, I have not even heard of those 2 anti-virus programs before. They are not well-known at all...
I still recommend say, AVG. You can download it free at http://free.grisoft.com . It's your choice anyway. If your computer is really behaving ok, I guess you can stick with that 2.
Try scanning your computer once in a while at e.g. housecall.trendmicro.com - one of the best free online scanners I have come across. Cheers!:D

I don't know it at all:) But it seems right now it's still fine for me to use two anti-virus softwares. As in the past my computer was infected by a very serious virus, and Kingsoft couldn't deal with it. I solved it by USB Killer. This is why I set two anti-virus softwares for my computer.

None. I use an Apple computer. There are no known viruses for Apples that have been created outside of laboratory conditions. Apples can pass windows viruses on to windows users via e mail. But that's something that they will have to protect themselves against. Most mac users wouldn't even know that the virus was there. Macs can run Windows and if I were to do that I would definitely get anti-virus software. AVG probably.

Well its not really good to have 2 anti viruses. why? because they go against each others guard. Your system wouldnt know which one to use incase of a virus attack and it will let you uninstall one of them. even if you try to download a game maybe, it will or might ask you to uninstall the other anti virus

I have only one anti-virus right now in my computer. As an advice I would like to tell you, that keeping more anti-virus programs is same to keeping one good anti-virus. Prefer installing only one anti-virus and keep it updated everyday. All anti-virus programs are similar in activity, the only difference is in the functionality and ease of use. I find Norton anti-virus the best one as it provides real time protection from all viruses, spywares and also informs if some change in the system configuration can be lethal.

Right now I am using AVG Free edition. I like AVG free because installation is straight forward. My second anti-virus is Avast. I'm annoyed with the registration process of Avast. You have to enter a serial number that has been emailed after you register.
