I have put up a lot of Christmas tree's, but the one thing I have never been sure of is when is the best time to put it up, because I have been told by some people that the best time is right after Thanks Giving, and others have said wait till a week before Christmas, and 1 person said wait till Christmas Eve that it makes it very special. I usually put it up about 2 weeks before Christmas.

I now put it up after or around Thanksgiving. More time to enjoy it and other decorations that way.

I was always told that you should put it up right after Thanksgiving. But, I think that it all depends on how much time you have to invest in taking care of the tree. A tree can dry out pretty fast and be more prone to catching fire. Now that I think of it, two weeks before Christmas sounds good. A lot of people don't like to take theirs down until after New Years.

I always put mine up the day after Thanksgiving. My outside lights and decorations go up at that time as well. I like a long Christmas and I enjoy seeing the decorations for a good solid month before everything comes down.
In 2008, I think Thanksgiving is either on the 28th or 29th of the month. I may put up my stuff the week before since it wont be a full month for Christmas decorations to be out since Turkey Day is late this year due to it being a leap year.
