How do guys know when to propose to a girl?

How do guys know that it's time to say "will you marry me?" do you weight the number of good times you with the bad? do you consider your financial stability? or is it the biological clock ("you're getting old") that drive you to get hitched? Getting married coz the girl got prenant does not count.

When he knows he can truly love AND trust a woman. Even then its not 100% sure, but still men do propose and make the next step in the relationship. There is also financial concerns not just where they'll live but how. Maybe for some an aging issue might drive it, but a good number of men are still viable for reproduction at "old age". Oh, and women, you can propose to the guy... Just saying. Its 2007...21st century... and if you really like the guy, why not take that step? Just saying and just asking.

women propposing to men? that's new. does she also get to but the engagement ring and get down on one knee? lol.
but i s think ur right about love AND trust. I should also add that respect is also important.

You should be in a right position..you should believe and know the girl the best ..if all this is right from your side then go ahead and propose ...best of luck friend..

but how would you know he is in the right position? what are the signs? will there be any signs?
