Are you a ghost believer or still suspicious about it?

Tonight one of my students asked me a question about ghosts. She began with, "Do you think the existence of ghosts, please?". I told her that I don't believe so. I said that it is only imagined by people. But she told me quite a few true stories that her grandmother and family told her and also one example she herself had experienced, which made me believe her to some extent. Also some other girls joined in this topic or conversation and they all agree that in Building 7 on campus, where they live, they used to hear someone using the bathroom and tap-water and also the footsteps on the fifth floor at midnight, when everything was so quiet. It is also the top floor, where all the rooms are empty and there is even an iron door for the fifth floor and it is locked, with nobody being able to step to the fifth floor. They just get very nervous about this. By the way, our school is very big and the spot used to be some fields and some scattered tombs of the local villagers though it is now part of the town. It would be a lengthy one if I should tell each ghost story from my students. To make it short, I just wonder whether mylotters here believe that there are ghosts or if you or your family or friend has ever seen one in real. It would be interesting to know about ghost stories. Thanks for sharing with us your ideas or stories about this in advance. I would appreciate it very much for your responses, my dear friends. Come on and share with us, ok? Thanks again.

I am neighther a believer nor suspicious about ghosts. I just firmly do not believe in ghosts. From where it comes? Who were they earlier? Who do they live (on top of tamarind tree). In India, there are millions of villages and the have c o c k and bull story in each village about ghosts. They have a name also for each one of them. Where do they get food. Where do they sleep? Are they reproducing? Who is their leader? It is the authors of the books who had long ago listened grandmother stories, gave tiwsts and turn to the stories and stuffed one or two ghost elements to make the story scary. There are no ghosts. I am the ghost, if I walk in the night where there is no moon, put a white cloth on my head. I might have gone for a nature call.

Hello Williamjisir, I very much believe in ghosts, I've seen them, on more than one occassion. Where I live now, many strange occurances have happened. I've woke up missing jewelry off my fingers, rings that don't just fall off when I'm awake, why when I'm sleeping? I've heard keys and footsteps across my floors when I'm home alone. I've been woken up in the night thinking my hubby is home from work in the shower only to get up and see he's not there. My hubby didn't believe me either until one night in October this year. He was in the kitchen making him a grilled sandwhich. On the counter he placed a tub of butter and the meat and stuff he was going to make his sandwhich with. I was on the couch in the living room watching TV, but out of the corner of my eye I could see into the kitchen where he was standing at the table. Just then, I see something flying through the air and landing on the floor, my hubby hadn't moved from the kitchen table. I got up and went in there and the lid to the tub of butter, which he had not taken off yet, was on the floor infront of the refridgerator about 5ft from where the butter tub sat on the counter. I saw my hubby, he was no where near the lid when it removed itself from the tub and flew across the floor. He was frozen, his mouth dropped open and all he could say was, "I didn't do that". Hello again, dear Bay. Yes, I think that so long as we are conscious about what we are doing, there is no problem for us to distinguish whether it is a dream or not. It seems that most people would say so if you tell them something paranormal. Thanks for your further response, my dear friend.

Thank You William! It's all true. Some say I may have been sleeping and dreaming during some of the events, but I just don't think so. I think I could tell the difference between dreaming and real, I can any other time anyway. I know some dreams feel like they were real and it takes a moment to distinguish between the two, but you can usually tell when it was a dream. Happy posting to you too! Bay xx

I definitely believe in ghosts, even though I have never seen one appearing before my eyes. The reason why I believe in them is because my grandparents, parents, uncles and aunties claimed that they have seen ghosts before. As a child, I always heard stories from my grandparents, parents, uncles and aunties about their encounters with ghosts as they lived in a haunted house in the past due to poverty. The stories that they told me was exactly similar, even with all the minor details, so I could be very sure there wasn't a coalition by them just to trick a small kid like me to sleep. Besides, my parents actually showed me the haunted house they stayed in last time, but we just passed through without entering the house. One of the stories from my grandmother goes like this. She was washing clothes in the night by the river near her home and she actually saw a whitish apparition floating through the air, with the shape of a human but without a head. As the apparition drew nearer to her, my grandmother said that she could actually see that the apparition was headless and blood was oozing out from the area without the head. She claimed she even heard the apparition say this in Mandarin, "Help me to revenge, help me to revenge, I beg you". My grandmother was so frightened she ran straight back home leaving the all the clothes at the river. That's one of the stories that I heard which gave me the chills down my spines. There were many other stories too but I guess there's just too many to tell in one post. I'll post more if you remind me to from time to time! =)

Good morning, dear gerald_lian. I show great interest in the wondeerful story from you grandmother. I am glad that I read this morning, not last night, otherwise it would be difficult for me to fall asleep. hehe. I especially like the part where the apparition could speak in mandarin. So this could be a Chinese ghost or apparition. Oh, my. Yes, in our Chinese culture, we have many ghosts stories. I guess that you must know that famous ancient classic novel by Pu Songling, which is entitled with "Liaozai", with many ghosts stories in it. I love this novel very much and used to read it a lot when I was young. This novel is also made into movies, which I also love to watch very much. If you have any more stories about what one has experienced in his own life and has ever seen with his own eyes, please feel free to type it here for us to share. I appreciate your response and interesting story very much. Have a good day, my dear friend.

I believe more about guardian angels, that we all have guardian angels surrounding us, watching over us and protecting us, sometimes we nearly have bad accidents, but because we are not ready to die we are protected. I like to think that my guardian angel is my beloved nan watching out for me. I always keep an open mind especially about the paranormal. Anything is possible in this world and unless you have proper evidence, proof that ghosts do NOT exist then you can't say I don't believe in ghosts.

Good morning, my dear friend wolfie. I think that it is better to believe more about guardian angels than ghosts, as they are there protecting us from getting into any evil things. I am glad to know that you have guardian angels in the heart. Yeah, it is the same with me to keep an open mind about the paranormal stuff as this is such a mysterious world, where there are so much for us to learn about. Thanks so much for your response, wolfie. Good day.

I have seen ghosts or spirits as a child. I did not realize it then, I had thought it was somebody else like my mother or a stranger but they either disappeared quickly or I saw my mother immediatetly after I saw the spirit. I suppose they are real. I definitely did nt imagine those sightings.

It's a scary experience for your students, who are dwelling in the campus hostels. Thank god I didn't have super natural encounter to share but I do like to share my point of view regarding this. I believe 'ghost' is some form of 'energy' which exist in different dimension. So coincidently our brain activity could pick up the 'frequency' released by this form of 'energy'. The reason we could see thing and hear thing is because our brain pick up the nerve signal sent by our visual and hearing organ (eye and ear). So all things that we are familiar with are only the interpreted image of our brain. Amazing isn't it? So, this super natural form of 'energy' somehow could intercept our brain activity and create illusional image and sound inside our brain, which we believe it's real or even exist! I belive most of the time, the super natural form of energy doesn't intentionally intercept our brain. Only when our brain activity is operating same 'frequency' with it, then only we can receive the 'signal'. The working mechanism is just like how radio and TV works. The maximum RF signal is transfered when the impedance matches. This explain sometimes, only certain people at certain time could 'see' or 'hear' things. This is really an interesting topics and much to be explored. Hope we could talk about this next time :)

You are welcome my friend. As a science stream student, I always try to analyse thing from scientific angle. Whatever unexplained today, is because we haven't acquired the knowledge or haven't achieved that level or haven't discovered the secret yet. We might understand it one day when technology is more advanced in the future. Thanks for agreeing with my opinion my friend. Happy mylotting!

Dearest William, I would say that I do no believe in G H O S T S and spirits but love to watch horror movies and have goose flesh still. lol. However, I have heard many stories about ghosts from my granny who used to spice it up with all successful ingredients of a horror flick. We used to listen to her spell bounded and couldn't even move an inch after the saga is over. It took only 5 mins to make us believe in the spirits and enough of ambience wa created just in a while. I used to love those sessions and miss them a lot today. As I grew up I hardly believe in the existnce of such but i still miss those stories. I think, supernaturalism is as enigmatic at the term itself and if not out of mere believing, I certainly love the creepiness of it. Thanks for a great post. Have a great day.

Hello my dearest mimpi. Long time no see. Glad to see you in my discussion. I also love to listen to ghost stories and watch movies of this kind. But it is creepy enough to just watch such a movie alone. When I was a kid, I often heard such stories by adults and I would sit in the middle of them as I was so freaked out though I love to hear. But after the story, I would not be able to walk in the dark alone. Thinking of this, I cannot help laughing at myself for this. Smiling. Thanks for your response, my dear mimpi. Have a good day.

I believe in ghosts. I've seen and felt them all my life. My mothers house is very active in that regard. I've seen 3, felt many more. There's at least 1 kid there. Very michevious. Especially at Christmas. There are a couple of battery operated ornaments my mom has that she puts on the tree. And the kid activates them.

No, I don't believe in the Christian idea of god. By the way, the last time I checked god didn't write the bible. Men did. I'm not here to argue theology or the theories you got from some website (afterall, if you read it on the internet it MUST be true). The question was whether people believe in ghosts. I do. I've had experiences with them. Many experiences, all of my life. All but 1 were very positive experiences. No, ghosts don't talk. But they do communicate. There's a difference. If you were "talking to ghosts" I'd say that you were just imaginative.

Please don't think that you're more educated on ghosts that I am. You're backing up what you've "learned" by the beliefs of 1 religion. There are many more religions than that, and most of them are older than Christianity. And I've studied several of them. Different religions have different views on the subject of ghosts. You've picked one set to believe. My experience tells me that that's wrong. I never said that the ghosts always made me feel good. I said that the ornaments activating at Christmas made my sister feel better. Trust me, I'm very attuned to the feeling of evil. I can read it in people, animals, even ghosts. Just because "god told the men what to write" doesn't mean that they got it right, or that it was translated right. There have been many proven mistranslations in the bible.

Hi williamjisir! I have been very skeptical about ghosts and i always tell my friends, "to see is to believe" because they always tell me stories about ghosts especially whenever we have sleepovers. Until i saw one myself and then have a few more encounters. One was a white lady that i saw when my friends and I passed by a cemetery on our way home, then when some of my relatives who passed away, I saw them in their homes and one i saw at our house. I saw most of them at night time and one i saw in broad daylight. But you know what, I believed it for a few days or months then with so many years gone by, I am thinking if it was just a figment of my own imagination or what. But of course, i don't want to prove it by having them appear to me longer at the same time talk to me. I guess I am a coward when it comes to things like these. I would rather believe now without seeing one again. haha..Take care and have a nice day. :)

Hi and Hello, my great friend - Sir William. First and foremost, I have to thank you for providing this endless sensational subject of discussion. And as always, I am proud to have your posted discussion and on keenness basis to answer this subjective question in your discussion. GHOST is a terminology created by human to make it identifiable as subject of superstitious occurrence in human life. Why do I believe ghost existence?. Yes I do. I do believe ghost because it live and life in fourth (4th.) dimension with different frequency. In general or basically, human live in third dimension and can travel up to the maximum limit for thirteenth (13th.) dimension and ghost does not, ghost only live and life in fourth (4th.) dimension only. Just like an astronaut leaving this world to outer space, definitely need special suit case design for the travel purpose. If I want to go to ghost dimension and frequency area, of course I need my special suit case, physically and spiritually, to communicate with ghost and have my common communication with ghost just like do talking to normal human in this world of dimension and frequency. One more thing, it just like I want to go to meet an English man, who does not know my native language. And I am the one, who need to seek his help, so I have to learn English Language. Another prove, when you walk alone at night time, in the dark and in the remote area, what will you feel? Your goose bumps is the signal of existence of next life in your mind, body and blood. And what is that? As I said, ghost is the terminology for superstitious existence but it prone to bad assumptions. But if when we are in the feeling good, we will say as God. God and Ghost, switching in our mind from one to another. A terminology and the sensational existence will depend on the interest in certain area of the event. My conclusion, I believe in ghost existence. And ghost must be my friend and my follower, not my enemy. So, no more scare to ghost. What make we scare, because of our imagination goes beyond our expectations. And again, much thanks for providing good discussion. At least but not last, every event in our life must have the scientific explanation that reciprocates the superstitious element to build up our believe and belief. As usual, Happy Postings and Earnings, my best friend - Sir William. And never less for; HAPPY DAPPY.

It is the same with me when I walk through creepy places. I remember one special place when I have to pass while riding along the country road when I take a bike-riding. That is the place that I do not want to pass, but I have to, because it is a place where there are a lot of big tombs facing the road and I feel very scared about them. I hate to see tombs as I was only brought up in the city and am not used to seeing them...
