does anybody know the code to get 99 lives

i have the original nes. and i have super mario bros (the first one). and i remember my brother used to enter a code during the opening credits of the game to get 99 lives. he doesnt remember what it was. all i know is it is something like "up down left right..." but i dont remember the exact combo. can anybody remember it?

World 3-1, and be Super Mario.
At the staircase before the end flag you will see two turtles coming down. Jump over the first turtle and then jump on the second turtle. It should hit the side and bounce back but you'll continue to jump on it. Keep doing that and after awhile you get the 1-ups. Don't go past 100 1-ups or you get a Game Over.
