Having a Deja Vu moment...

You know those times when something seems so vaguely familiar you feel like you've seen it or done it before? That's what just happened to me. I clicked on top discussions and several of them gave me that feeling...but not in the normal way of them being familiar because I'd seen them before but in a deja vu kind of way. That usually happens to me around some significant life event.
Do any of you get deja vu often? Have you ever noticed a connection between its occurence and changes or events in your life?

I read somewhere somespiritual reader saying that before we are born we are shown a type flash video type thing of what our life is going to be and when that feeling happens to you she said you are actually recalling something you have already seen and because this has happened it means you are on the right track, you are where you are menat to be...interesting idea if nothing else...

That is a very interesting thought! Thanks for sharing that. It does make a lot of sense too since for me it tends to happen around a significant event...as if I can't recall the big thing from that flash "video" but the small things that were around it come easily...well that didn't come out right even though I sat here for a few minutes trying to word it right. The small things are like place holders and we can recall them because they have no significance but the big things are sort of erased from memory so that we can't use the information/memory to alter our life plan.

yeh I thought it sounded quite reasonable, but it was also said when die we are shown another flash video of the life we have led and we then have to judge our-selves and at that point we are the harshest judges of all... that also could be interesting...

yes this happens a lot to me (maybe I'm getting crazy or something like). But the first action starts with my dreams. The weirdest one was when I dream I was at my English class and a classmate of mine was writing a long text on the blackboard, I couldn't see all the text because she had a bad hand writing but in my dream there was a word written big and clearly enough for me to read it, it was the word respect. After that i woke up. The next week I was at my English class and the teacher asked a classmate of mine to write a text on the blackboard. I thought that I've lost my mind. I was reliving my dream, I was in the same angle as in my dream, the same person was writing th same unclearly long text and....this really freaked me out in the middle there was a word written big and clear on the board, it was the same word as in my dream. I don't think this is a deja vu but I've experienced this 2 times. I'm not making this up this really happened....maybe I should stop eating late it makes me see in the future. Darn those toast sandwiches with butter, spicy salami, tomatoes and green peppers.

Hmmm chocolate ice cream....Thank God that I'm immune to this. And by "immune" i mean that being a chocolate maniac I can eat a lot of chocolate without having....mental abilities. Speaking now about this I'm going to eat my way out through my aunt's pancakes with chocolate cream.

I dream things that happen later in my life and then I get that deja vu feeling. It has happened so many times. Then I will remember that I dreamed it before it happened which kind of creeps me out, but it has been said that women in my family have "the gift". I don't know what you would call it but it kind of takes the surprise out of life lol.

It can be creepy when things like that happen. I still remember a very vivid dream I had about a certain building catching on fire. I dreamed it all so clearly and the 4 months later it happened. I didn't see the fire itself when it happened for real but the damage matched what I had seen in my dream.

Yes, I get deja vu all the time. I even have dreams about things that are going to happen. My husband and children freak out when I'm walking around the house with the phone because I know someone is about to call me and I don't want to have to run for the phone.

You know I dont think I have had too many, I have what I call hindsight moments were I think I forgot something, I always say on my way to where ever I am going or doing whatever I am doing Gee I think I forgot something, then I wonder what it was all day.

Those moments drive me NUTS! And you end up so preoccupied that you don't even pay attention to where ever it is you are or whatever you're doing!

deja vu according to me maybe because the thing that's going to happen has already happened a split second earlier before we see it. i think we have the capacity to sense what's happening far off and this ability may be active during the deja vu moment

Heh, I started a thread for Deja Vu involving mylot. As for deja vu in general, despite people and studies saying its not real, the instances still seem to happen at least for me. There have been several times where things seemed sped up by a few or several seconds in my mind. Then things catch up and the whole picture I believe I've seen before comes into full view. For me, it happens on various events not just the significant. Even the most unimportant of events, conversations can come up as deja vu.

Hmm that's even more interesting...
I know what you mean about things being ahead a few seconds, I've had that feeling too. t's just so strange how I can "remember" silly little things around a big event but not the big event itself.
