When it turns into winter, I love to drink non alcoholic egg nog. It's my favorite 'winter' beverage, although I do like apple cider. There are all kinds of cider to choose now days. What about you? What is your favorite beverage when the cold comes, the snow lurks, and you're basically freezing your little buns off?

I have three favorites, I couldn't choose between the three. One is french vanilla coffee, one is peppermint tea and the last but not least is hot chocolate. I love hot chocolate with fat free whipped cream. Here is a hot chocolate my son made for me a couple of days ago.:)

I like the hot chocolate, I think that during the cold days it's the best beverage. I drunk a cup of chocolate some hours ago.

My favorite winter beverage has got to be hot chocolate milk. I made some for my family and myself the other day and it warmed us up so nicely. Very soothing and relaxing too. Yep, hot chocolate has got to be my all time favorite drink during the cold weather. :)

Yep, that's exactly what it is. :)
I know about that watery stuff, I used to drink it when I was little. The last time I had it was when I was pregnant with my oldest, but by then I didn't like that watered down taste. :P
I usually just grab a medium saucepan, put a few cups of milk in it. Set it on the stove around 5-6 (medium) and pour some Ovaltine into the sausepan, stirring it in while it warms up. Remember to stir often so it doesn't burn. And don't let it boil or it'll get that icky soupy stuff on top (sorry, it's almost 2 in the morning and I cannot remember the name it). Pour some in cup and enjoy (after letting it cool off a bit, if needed). :)

Hi AmbiePam,I have 2 favorite winter drinks. The first one is apple cider, and the second is hot chocolate. It has to have a ton of marshmallows in it though, the more the better! I do like Eggnog too, but I usually just drink that Christmas Eve and/or day!
Luv & Hugzz, PurpleTeddyBear.

I like mocha! I make it myself with equal parts instant coffe, hot chocolate mix and creamer. Though I can't drink this at night or it will keep me up all night. I also like to warm up apple cider, but that would be a treat and don't drink it that often. I do like egg nog, as a matter of fact just got some yesterday. I was thinking about getting some vanilla icecream and making a shake with it!

well in your country, when its cold, you go outside and it goes crunch crunch crunch... but in our country when its cold, it simply rains and when we go outside, it only goes plak plak plak :-) LOL it's not really as cold as your country, so we're just contented with coffee or local soup (we call that "sinigang") during cold weather.... some old folks would like "lambanog" or "tuba" (it's a local drink from coconut juice or something ) ... but most filipino men especially farmers would still drink that whether hot or cold weather :-)

Hi,there! I don't have too clear definition for winter or summer beverage.I like sth not because of the season but because of the taste or the feeling itself:) When it's winter time,I like milk shake pretty much.I just had some yesterday but not with milk while with coffee. I like the one mixed with ice cream and I like that pretty much especially in winter. The feeling is just so nice and the taste is wonderful.LOL! Thanks for the discussion and have a nice week^_^

definitely hot chocolate! I like to froth it up with my little mini mixer. I like Milo..not sure if you guys have it in the USA or anywhere else overseas but it's chocolate powder. When you heat it up in the microwave, the milo on top goes thick and sticky and it's heaven. Then I like to sprinkle powdered chocolate over the top. It's so comforting and warming on a hot day that I always have more than one!

Will I do enjoy at least one cup of hot chocolate with whipping cream on top but really I don't think I have a favorite. Usually when christmas roles around I am so nervous about gaining more weigh that it is the only time of year that I don't gain weight. So I don't partake in special drinks, I don't have seconds and I have the least amount of treats that my well power will let me get away with. How about everyone else? Do you over indulge or try to limit the intake?

Hello AmbiePam. My favorite winter beverage is still orange juice like I have in all the other seasons. I drink milk as well. These two are my favorite that I need to have all the year round. Thanks for your beverage discussion.

i don't like egg nog. I'm in a tropical country so it doesn't get really cold. but slightly colder cos the monsoon rains hit us in 'winter'.
there is this other drink with fruits inside that is a deep red but i can't remember for the life of me what the name is. it's a winter drink too.
hot chocolate with marshmellows is an all time favourite, that i can safely say. :)
