My son and his girlfriend came by to see if I needed anything at the store since the weather has turned bad he has the day off today. After they took a look in my refrigerator my daughter in law to be came to me...on the sly...lol...with a bag in her hand and was obviously trying to be very discreet in asking me what I was doing with "this" in my refrigerator! I couldn't stop laughing...it was a small bag of oregano. She was positive that it was pot and was trying to hide it from my son which I thought was sweet of her but I thought she new me better than that. Has anything like this ever happened to you? Is there anything in your refrigerator that could be mistaken for something else?

This didn't happen to me but it happened to my son. I came home from my sister in laws house one day and they had been mowing thier lawn while I had been there, I sat down on thier freshly mowed grass and talked awhile with my sister in law and pretty soon it was time to go home. When I got home I changed my clothes and threw the dirty one's in the laundry. Later on that day my ex husband calls me into the bedroom and says "I hate to break this to you but I think Corey is smoking pot" and then he produces a hunk of pot and at first I thought it was pot then I got to looking at it and started putting two and two together as I was laughing so hard I couldn't talk my ex was not understanding my laughter he was confused to say the least so I had to sit him down and explain that that really wasn't pot it was grass, not grass/pot but grass/grass it took about an hour to convince him it was not pot LOL. I will never forget that, it was so funny....Amberina.

Oh, she was definitely embarrassed and of course I had to let my son in on my "secret" and he couldn't stop laughing.

LOL oh yes, this has happened to me. I grow a lot of my own herbs and dry them and keep them in jars or bags. My son found a couple of bags of dried herbs in the cupboard and, thinking it was *something smokable* he took one of them and shared it with his friends. Boy did they look stupid trying to smoke dried parsley :-)

Nope, that has never happened to me. My son did go in the fridge the other day to eat some left over stuffing and grabbed the stuffing with the giblets in it instead of the plain. He was not to happy with his first bite!

That's too funny. If she had taken a whiff of your green stuff, she would have known that it was not pot. Somebody did the same thing to my mother once. I think it was parsley, the flat Italian kind.

That is funny! I don't have anything unrecognizable, or that could be mistaken for something else in my frig, though. But it reminds me of a food story a lady I worked with told me. She had given her daughter some corn starch in a baggie for her baby's diaper rash. On the way home, the daughter was stopped for a traffic offense, and the cop saw her other child holding the baggie. He thought it was coke! He had the poor woman out of the car and patted down and everything before she could convince him it was only corn starch. Like you would let your young child hold your bag of coke, anyway. Our cops around here aren't too bright.

I often keep several dryed herbs in the kitchen and my grandkids are always teasing me about my stash. I also buy parsely in bulk at the health food stoare. I get it in a plastic bag and often wonder what the police would do if they saw it laying on the seat of the car if I got stopped for a traffic violation.

That is really hilarious. Personally, I wouldn't be able to recognize pot. And, is that what people do? put pot in the refrigerator? LOL. Thanks for the chuckle.

I can relate to this. Last year I had a bunch of herbs sitting in the fridge in a jar of water. My step son asked me what were "weeds" doing in the fridge?

Thats funny.I had something simular to that, that i did one time...My ex used to buy pot every now and then, well he bought a bag and put it in the freezer, i supposs he was hiding it..Well my nephew came over one evening and a few other family members, so anyway the bag came up missing.well i knew that my little nephew had taken it cause he was a pot smoker...So i got some oregano and put it in a bag and planted it in the freezer so he would steal it again...I have often wondered if he likes smoking that oregano..haha

No I don't have anything in my refrigerator that could be mistaken for something but I do have a bag of catnip in my cupboard that might be mistaken for pot if someone saw it
