I am new to Mylot (hello!!) and I am wondering if someone can help me figure out what the stars with numbers above some user names mean?
Also, how much have you made? I have a really relaxed job (I work in an office and am pretty much the answer the phone, send out emails girl) and pretty much do nothing but sit online reading livejournal and the news haha. So not only does this seem like a fun website (love message boards!) but it also seems like it could be good to make some always needed extra cash. Thoughts?
Also, do you know what the photo maximum is?
Thanks!

Welcome to mylot. The stars above the user name is the reputation.YOu will get one of this stars once you have reached 100 post.Members will rate your post or responses. The more (+) the higher the star rating will be the more (-)you recieve the lower the star rating will be.I've been a memeber a year now and back then when I first started I used to get like $30-$60 a month.Earnings have decreased now so they are nowhere near that amount anymore.

As Disva said its the rating other members give you via the + or - button with any of your posts or discussions. It can be unfair, especially if you express a different opinion or end up proving someone else wrong in something. I don't know what the photo maximum is honestly. I know one can only upload a few or several photos per day. I think the photos don't have a limit, I've seen members with dozens of them on profile and uploaded in discussions.
Oh and welcome to Mylot. I've seen a few of your posts and I think you'll be a great addition to the fold. Welcome aboard!

it's a combination of a number of things:
1. reputation
2. ratings
3. quality posts
4. quality responses
so if you could improve in these areas then your rating will automatically be increased.
keep that in mind next time you respond to someone discussion or create a discussion.

Its supposed to work like that and for some members it does. However there are members with lower star ratings and they have quality discussions/responses a lot of the time.

Well I earned about $12 in my first two months. In the last 8 months since then I've only earned about $5. I think they changed the way earnings worked, because there is no way I posted more in my first two months than I have in the last 8. I think some people also earn a fair amount from referrals, of which I have none.

Welcome to mylot. The star above a person's avatar is their reputation here in mylot. People rate each others discussions and responses and this star is the average rating. I don't take the star too seriously because it really doesn't matter what it is. If a person likes your discussion they will respond to it regardless of the number of your star. My star went down from a 10 with a 99/100 rating, just today, to a 9 with a 89/100 rating. It doesn't matter much to me, except that someone doesn't like me and is giving me negative ratings, for it to go down this far in one day is absolutly incredidable. Oh well.
