In China, our english teachers will say "Class begin".Then the students stand up and say "Good morning teacher".After that the english teachers say "Good morning students" and let the students sit down.
When the class is over, the teachers will say "Class over".
What teachers say in your country?

Hey there Niushuang. :)
As far as I know, and based on my experience, the teacher usually greets the students with, "Good morning," or Good afternoon, or Good evening. At the end of the class, "That's all for today, goodbye" or, "See you next meeting". Ss a teacher, I usually say, "That's all for today, and thank you for coming to class." I don't know why I do that, but I like saying it at the end of class. Makes me feel good. :)

Hi my friend Milfea.
You are a teacher right?
I think we like to say something at the beginning or ending of the class, because it will make us feel good.:)
On the other hand,it means the class is a whole process.Right?
Good luck.

Hello,
In my School,it was like a Militry School,(we had the cardet unit), the captain gives an order whenever a teacher enters,All stand, greet;then other students will raise and answer, good morning Sir or Ma as the case might be.
The teacher will then answer, good morning students, you can have your sit.

Our classes are not that formal. The teachers usually just say good morning and hopefully the students are polite enough to return the greeting. At the end of class, a bell rings and the kids leave if it is older students. Little kids stay in the same class most of the day except for lunch and recess.

In the Philippines, when I was in elementary, my teachers used to greet us like this, "Good morning, (section ?)!" and we reply by saying, "Good morning, (teacher or sir)!". But now, in my school, the teachers in the high school department always have the greeting as, "Good morning, section (?). Peace be with you." and the students reply by saying, "Good morning, (ms. or sir ?). Peace be with you.".
But in my elementary days, my teachers used to say, "Goodbye, section (?)!". While in the high school department, the teachers say, "Goodbye students. You're now dismissed.".

usually, our professors will greet us with "okay class, get one fourth sheet of paper, let's have a quiz", LOL...
when the class is over, they'll say to us "next meeting we'll have a quiz, class dismissed", LOL...
we usually have quizzes everyday.... :)

Depends on what stage of school, where the school is and what the class and students are like.
Most times the class says Good Morning then the Teacher.
But I've gotten various things from experience and stories.

here in the philippines expecially catholic schools, we always start our day with a prayer then "good morning/afternoon" says a teacher. "pls. take your sits". and if it is already time to go, there will b reminders from the teacher and says "Good bye class", then the students reply "good by sir/mam".

Those words are to mark the beginnning of a class. I'm an ESL teacher here and we usually say "Hello students!" then followed by "Good morning/Good afternoon". These introductory words will remind the students to keep quiet and pay attention. They become used to it that eventhough they know little yet of the English language, they know what to do when they hear me say "Hello students!"
It varies I guess from culture, countries and practices we do. =) Have a nice day!
