i think you should balance both...the important thing is you keep on posting...respond to other discussions...and you can also create your own discussions...we are paid on the number of good quality posts that we have...so don't be hopeless...just keep on responding and creating discussions...for sure, soon, you will also reach the payout...

From experience and from what I've seen ever since I joined last month, I've seen and been led to believe that you'll get more out of replying to discussions rather than starting your own because most of the time, people may just start up a topic that's been talked on many many times - yet they're just not aware of it. Instead of taking that road which obviously leads to no avail, contributing and adding your own voice towards a started topic that's unique pays off in a good way and makes it all worthwhile.

I think it is better to respond discussions instead of posting them. I've noticed that myLot won't give you extra money if you start discussions. Last time, I tried to post discussions without responding any discussions. I didn't get earnings although some people responded to my discussions.

I don't know whether it is better to respond or start a discussion....For me, I prefer to respond to discussion because I can respond faster than thinking of what I want to ask..
Also, try to post as early as you can when the server restarts anew on a new day....I think it will help to get higher earnings

You won't make any money by just starting discussions. You don't get paid for starting them, nor do you get paid for responding within your own discussions.
If you see the number in ( ) beside your name and take notice of that, every time that number goes up, your earnings increase. The way to make that number go up is post in different discussions. You only get counted for 2 responses per discussion. Any more than that does not count.
So post a lot on different topics and you'll make the money here. =)
Also, myLot pays on the *quality* of the post, not the number of posts. I got paid when I first started one dime (ten cents) for 2 very lengthy responses, but the next day made 20 shorter responses and only got paid about 8 or 9 cents.
So the longer and more in depth the response is, the better.

Well i like responding because there are some really interesting topics but it also feels really good when you post a topic and get lots of responses! :-)

Well i prefer responding to discussions. When you start new discussions according to mylot guidelines you are supposed to check if another similar topic already exists adn also there is no guarantee that people will respond to your discussions. So i usually go to the discussions already started and choose the ones I am interested in and i respond to them.

Hello dear chaithudagger. I think that it is the same. There is not much difference between posting new discussions and responding to discussions. But I prefer responding to discussions rather than posting as I am not that creative. hehe. Thanks for your topic and thanks for resonding to mine hours back. Good day.
