Greece is a wonderful place to visit. I have made two journeys to Greece, once for two and half weeks and almost two months the other time. Greece offers beautiful sights, delicious cuisine, is the cradle of western civilization, and has wonderful and friendly folks to meet. A simplistic view of Greece would divide it into three parts - Athens and the mainlands, the Aegean Islands (ie - Santorini, Mykonos, Rodos, Kriti), and the Ionian Islands (ie - Kephalonia, Corfu). I have visited all three areas and enjoyed each. From a budget standpoint, Greece became less affordable with the change to Euros and the 2004 Olympics, both excuses to jump up prices. Still, Greece is generally less expensive than the rest of the European Mediterranean and safer than the African and Middle East coasts.

I come from Greece and im glad to be. Its a nice place and i recommend you visit us someday it is really worth the visit. Dont only focus on visiting the islands though, thats a common mistake. There are far more things to see than only visit the islands we got.

Greece is beautiful country to visit. In summer the weather can get very hot. I visited the capital city, Athens. I really enjoyed seeing all the old buildings there. I also went to the lovely island of Spetse. The white washed houses and old churches looked so pretty. I enjoyed going to many of its rocky, pebbly beaches. I found the people were very friendly.
