Well, last June I couldn't help myself. I adopted a (third)dachshund from the SPCA. She was supposed to already be spayed, but whaddya know, she came into heat. We're finally over that, thank goodness, and now she is going to get spayed (for free, by the SPCA) and have her teeth cleaned. Wish Molly luck on Friday!

Yes, I think this is best. Expecially after three weeks of putting up with her being in season! Not to mention that she has had to stay outside or in the garage a lot, instead of in the house. She absolutely hates the diapers we put on her, but that's the only way she could stay inside. So now we don't have to worry about that any more.

What a cutie! I love mini dachshunds and have a couple myself. They are addictive, aren't they? I wish Molly luck with her surgery. Give her a kiss for me!

Now that her teeth are nice and clean and her breath is much better, she gets lots of kisses!

Yes, at least by having her surgery on Friday, we'll have all weekend to keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't bother the stitches. I'd hate to have to put one of those goofy collars on her!

My aunt had a dachshund named Molly as well. I had a daschund that we adopted. Her mother's name? Molly. Mine lived until she was 15 when a stroke claimed her life. She passed away in April of this year. I still miss her. I'll say a prayer for your Molly and send good thoughts to her on Friday. I'm sure she'll do just fine. I do know my dog loved to have her teeth brushed. We'd put a towel on the counter, then put her on the towel and she even had her own child's toothbrush and we'd brush her teeth. She loved it. The vet said there was nothing wrong with it and it helped her gums/teeth stay healthy.

She came through just fine, thanks, although it took her a little longer to come out of the anesthetic than they thought. I tried to brush her teeth - once! But now they're all nice and clean and her breath smells so much better.
