Just Married

Tuesday afternoon my fiance and I took the plunge and got married. We have known each other over half our lives and are 8th grade sweethearts. After living together for 3 years, having a beautiful daughter, and being engaged for almost a year we finally decided "What the heck are we waiting on?". My fiance brought up the idea of getting married Tuesday morning and we were married that afternoon. We just went to the courthouse with his mom, our daughter, and our grandparents. It was a short, simple and sweet ceremony just perfect for us.
Now I just have to get used to having a new last name!

Congrats to you both then. I'm glad you two were able to solve this and you took this step. Very neat in my honest opinion. Seems like a few other people are talking marriage and getting together around here. I find it a bit refreshing.

Congratulations! I love reading about how you guys talked about getting married and then the decision was made on the spur of the moment. I really enjoyed reading:

Not many people have the guts to do it that way and I wish that your marriage would be a great and happy one and would last your both lifetime. take care and all the best to the both of you!

aww, congratulations!! that's great. my boyfriend and i are hoping to get married in early january. our ceremony will be small as well, i'm not sure where though.

Congrats! That is how my husband and I did it too. We were together for 6 years and living together for most of those years before we got married. One day we were talking and decided to get married on our 6 year anniversary which is June 8th. We got together June 8th of 98 and were married on June 8th of 2004. So when my husband is asked now how long he has been married, instead of saying married for 3 but been together for 9, he says married for almost 10 years now. :) Have a great honeymoon! :)

Forgot to add that we went and got married in front of the mayor with my mom, dad and niece present. My mother-n-law was sick that day. I never wanted all the fancy stuff. Never dreamed of a big wedding. My sister and her ex had a huge wedding and it was expensive and they only lasted for 6 years. I think all of that stuff is a waste of money and time unless you know for sure you will be together forever. I know a lot of women prefer the big wedding and that is fine but I just never had the need for it. Anyway have a happy life! :)

Congratulations! My husband and I also had a simple, but nice ceremony. We eloped at the county clerks office downtown. We will be celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary in just a couple of months.
Did you have a honeymoon? My husband and I had one...we stopped off at the R/C hobby shop afterwards! Talk about romantic, eh? :P LOL

Hey Congratulations!!!!! That’s totally awesome! I think I should do that lol. I have known Mike since I was 15 and we finally got together when I was 22 being 7years with 4 beautiful children =) Congrats again and best wishes to you and your family =)

Hi cynddvs! Congratulations my friend on your wedding day! Best wishes for a more beautiful life together with your daughter. That is very romantic even it is simple as you say but the fact remains that your commitment for each other is now legal and should i say more binding.
