Would you rather stay at a hotel in the mountains or a hotel by the beach?

This is a hard one because I love them both. Maybe the mountains in the summertime (as long as it's a high elevation) to escape the heat and the beach in the wintertime because I wouldn't have to worry about the extreme heat! I suppose the heat's usually not TOO bad at the beach, but it's usually not as nice as up in the mountains.

I would choose hotel in the mountain because I haven't try it yet, even just to imagine it since I don't know if it ever come true since I am living in the city. But just closing my eyes, I feel the wind blowing while I walk, I can see flowers around me while my dog run around chasing butterflies (yes, hotel where I stayed allows pet, power of imagination)...

I would have to say the beach because I live so far out in the country and the mountains would remind me of how much I hate the country.

actually i like mountains a lot
so i would like to stay in a hotel
which can give me a nice view of the mountains.
beahces are good. but they become boring after sometime.
but mountains have a lot of beauty
and t refreshes from time to time.
so you can enjoy the natural beauty a lot

Don't get me wrong,I love the beach if it were only for a couple of hours ,but If I'm gonna be long enough where I would have to stay at a hotel,I would definatley chose the mountains.they are much more beautiful and peaceful and I wouldn't have to worry about people walking-or should I say jiggling- aound with skimpy bating suits that don't fit.lol!

They both sound like good ideas and I haven't done either one. But I think I would rather be by the beach. There is just something about the water, its so calm and peaceful.

I love the beauty of the mountains. I wouldn't want to be there in the winter, but would love to stay in the mountains. I don't do the beach...too many people...too much skin showing! LOL Not my cup of tea.

I prefer the mountains. I'm not a big beach person and on top of that I live near them. I don't bother with going to them either. The mountains though I think are beautiful and I've always loved visiting them. They just seem so peaceful and relaxing to me. The fresh air from being at them is also nice instead of smelling the fish and sea.

Wow, this discussion was started 5 months ago and I wasn't a member yet :-D
Anyway, I was gonna say a hotel by the beach but after my experience in Phuket in December 2004 I got paranoid. The beach is nice and a great place to go for fun. But the mountain is perfect for quiet moments and trekking.

both is equally good but i will still choose hotel by the beach..when you could just lie on the bed and hear the sea roars to the shoreline...one of the most romantic moments...

I would probably really like to go camping in the mountains or even in the desert rather than stay in a hotel. But, hotels are nice, especially when the weather's bad. I like the beach, but I'm really not a beach person and most beach areas that I've been to are very noisy and full of people. I think if you like to socialize and party, staying at or on the beach would be better for you. But, for me, I like the quietness of the country.

Hi kgwat,
This is quote hard for me since I grew up in a place where I consider a mountain but also we are close to ocean..LOL!
But, answering your question, I will be choosing near the beach, I love swimming and boating and this will be a great venue for me for my energy..LOL!
