I hate working in retail! I've worked in two stores so far and I hate the one I'm at now. Managers seem to always have an attitude or seem to be just a little to happy. I'm not for kissing peoples butts and running around like a slave for these people but work is work and I do need this little money right now. I go to college full time but the next job I get will not be in retail cause it just sucks. Does anyone else feel this way about Retail jobs easy to get but sucks when you get them.

I have worked in retail for about a year now. At times its alright and other days it is unbearable. Its amazing to me how rude people can be, and some of the scams that people try to pull off. Sometimes when i get a customer that is upset about a sale, I just want to yell back and be like its not the person behind the counter its the company. Before i worked in a high end resturant and trust me it wasn't any better.

I worked in retail many moons ago. First in a bookstore which I enjoyed... I love books and most of the customers were nice enough. But the pay was dismal. Then I sold jewelry on commission in a dept store. The money was better, but the customers, the managers, the rules and regulations nearly drove me mad... after 3 years, the stress was unbearable and I had to quit and get another kind of job. The most frustrating thing about it was not to be able to tell certain people what I really thought of them... customers can be rude, bosses can be rude but of course the sales associates have to be "nice", always! It's been almost 20 years since I worked in that store and there are a few people who were working with me then who are still there! I find that amazing! I think you have to have a certain type of temperment to work retail for a long period of time I don't have it LOL!
