For all those overweight people out there, who would like to shed their unwanted blubber, i would like to share my thoughts. Good, wholesome, Indian food, with lack of any proper or regular exercise, has made me into a hefty 85 kg, with a height of 5'4" at the age of 37. I know i belong to the extremely obese class of women, who frantically hide their bulges under layers of clothing, as nothing else works! but the worst part is the misery i undergo when i watch my slimmer friends float effortlessly through life. this is a problem i have been having right from my childhood days. i have always had a tough time finding dresses my size and have had to compromise miserably. all i can say is that the fight still goes on... for the past few years, i have taken to walks in the morning, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything to my stubborn weight. i don't have the will power to go on a diet, though, i do try to lessen the intake sugar and oil. these days, on and off, a slight knee pain surfaces, which is making me really scared. i know this is a burden too heavy for my poor knees. if any of you over there have won your battle with the bulge, do give me some foolproof tips. i am really desperate.

1. Do not avoid food. Food has to be consumed on time everyday. 2. You can avoid fatty foods, oily and junk foods totally. 3. Drink 2 litres of water everyday, preferably 1 litre in the morning itself. 4. Atl east one hour of brisk walking in the morning and 30 minutes of static cycling or siilar exericses at home if you cannot go home. My wife was obese and she paid $1000 and took a session at a healthy consultancy. all they taught her is the above stuff and showing some high sophisticated gadgets for tummy tuck etc.

You mean you cannot resist temptation. The best you can do is to keep the refrigerator empty. The stocks of chocolates, cheese, icecreams and the stuff can be emptied and should be not replenished. If the shops are far off you will not be tempted to buy it as and when you want to have. Self restraint is the best in this case.

Yes, the changes you make must be lifetime changers, not 5 minutes of change. When you are older, it takes a bit longer to move the weight but you must exercise and continue to always exercise. Once your goal weight is achieved you can ease up but whatever you do it must stay with you always....otherwise, any weight you lose will just go back on again. Good luck.

I think usually two ways can work for losing weights. One is to do more exercises, and the other is to have a healthy diet. Try to eat less oil and fat food. More vegetables are recommended. Besides, if you feel like eating more, then drink more water so that you will be full. As to the exercises, you can do it all the time. And I think doing much more housework is a great idea.

Do not over eat. Know your Required Daily Allowance. Age somehow deteriorates the metabolism. So you have to offset such fact, you have to do extra physical effort. Also, see to it that you are just eating enough. But, if you want to eat more, just try to do the physical activities frequently. :)

Well if your desire is to loose weight lets start with a goal. You stated that your weigh 85kg. This is not abnormal for many people. Now given your age and self identified lack of resolve, you will be faceing an up hill battle. So lets begin..... Step 1. Set a realistic goal, say 10 lbs or 4.5 kg in 2 month. this will set you up to do this in a safe and healthy way. Step 2. Evaluate your diet. If you eat nothing but junk food or foods that you know aren't good then you know where to start cutting back. The trick with diets is moderation. NO DIET will succeed if you don't like the food. So eat the things you like but make them small meals, and more of them. You should be eating about 5-6 times a day. Step 3. Now you need to find some easy low impact exercise you can do. ie. walking, water aerobics, or slight jogging. My advise to you is find something that will not hurt you, but that will make you sweat. Step 4. Discuss your feelings about your weight with your family and friends. They will be needed to help you when you start to give up. I have done this and believe me if you do it in a way that is too fast or if your goal is to be thin, you will only hurt yourself mentally and physically.
