The other day my Mom, my oldest Brother and I got on the topic of talents. We all have a talent...something that we're really good at.
My oldest Brother is really talented when it comes to auto work, restoring cars, welding and things like that.
My talent is my quilting and cross stitching. There's a pic of one of my quilts below.
My younger Brother is very talented at drawing. That is one of his pictures below that he did for me. I wish he'd do more of drawing...he's even won an award from a New York artist.
My youngest Brother can do amazing things with web designs and photos. He did my profile here on MyLot and he just has real talent when it comes to stuff like that.
So, do you have a talent and what is it? What's the most amazing talent you've seen in another person?
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

My talent is in my musical abilities! I do a lot of singing, a lot of guitar playing, bass playing, and after 30yrs of performing, it's easy for me to get up and do a whole show!
I also consider myself talented in the truck driving department! I've driven trucks all my life, and spent 13yrs over the road driving in 40 states, and have never had an accident!
I'm also starting to get talented on this here computer machine! I've only been on computers two years, and I've progressed pretty rapidly! I'm even showing other people how to do a lot of stuff on here!
In the military I was talented with a pistol and a rifle! I scored expert with a rifle, and scored higher than my captain with a pistol!
Other than that I'm just a boring old guy!!

I am told that I can write well *shrug*
my mother has a talent to put people at ease
my husband is extraordinary in his memory of numbers - all other memory is well shot - but numbers he retains. he serviced thousands of people in a military medical unit and could remember social security last fours of hundreds of them, it was really uncanny.
my one daughter is very gifted in artistics and writing
my son is extraordinary in his knowledge of plants, but his talent comes from his interest in them.

First of all, thank you for reminding all of us that we have talents. It's really important, in my opinion, that well remember that and thank our creator for blessing us with these talents, for they are gifts, not virtues.
Having said that, my earliest talents were playing the piano and singing, which I still treasure very much. Over the last eight or nine years, I discovered my talent for all things computer-related (building web sites, slide shows, creating books in MS Publisher, things like that). I never dreamed I would turn out to be such a "computer geek". I also got my first digital camera about eight months ago, and have turned out to be a pretty decent photographer.
The most amazing talent I've ever seen in another person? My ex-husband is one of the most fantastic guitarists I've ever personally known. He composes a lot of original stuff and it's mind blowing. Too bad he was such a bad husband.

Well, I guess that my talent would have to be my creativeness. I'm creative with anything and everything that I can be. Some of this creativeness has to do with being frugal, some of it has to do with lack of space, but most of the time, it's just me being me. Now that I'm out of work on short-term disability, I've had the time to be creative again, and I've forgotten how much I've missed it, and how good I am at it. I've made numerous Christmas presents this year for two reasons. One, I'm in debt up to my ears and can't really afford anything. Two, my creative frugality had time t come out and play!

I have always been told that I have a great talent for writing, whether it's stories or poetry right from a child to adulthood I have been blessed with a great gift. I have a great imagination and can put words to paper, I have never had anything properly published, I guess what I have in imagination I lack in confidence. The most amazing talent I have seen in a person is being able to speak more than two foreign languages fluently, it's amazing too me because I can only speak one language and have never mastered being able to learn a new language fluently.

My talent is taking pictures and scrapbooking. I love scrapbooking and everybody always wants to see what new layouts I've done. I made my mom and my mother in law a scrapbook for mother's day this past year and I just keep making new pages for them to put in their albums and they love it when I make new pages for them. I also made my grandmother and grandfather a scrapbook of them (as children all the way up to the age they were then) for their 50th anniversary and they were crying with tears of joy. It made me feel good to know that they liked it so much.

I'm not skilled or talented at anything. I'm so admiring of people who can do artistic things. I can knit and do a little crochet, I can embroider by hand and do cross stitch and tapestry, I make my own curtains and I can make my own clothes but there's nothing I do really well. Even when I study and practice things I'm not able to produce anything beyond an amateur. I can also sing and debate but again, I'd never win any prizes.

I always liked theater and ballet and had talent for them. My mother was the one who really had talent. She was one of those people who could decide to do something new and it always was great. When she decided to quit smoking she took up art and was very good at it. My son inherited her talent but not the desire to use it. I could kick him in the butt for that!

Everyone has a God given talent. Something that they really excel in. The thing about it is finding out what your talent is and using it in a way that glorifies God. That is what it is for.
I use my God given talent on Mylot every day. I am a writer and I love to talk about Jesus. He is my favorite subject. I never get tired of talking about him.

Hi twoey:)
I make hand crafted wooden crafts for any type of holiday or just for me,like a bench in my garden, bird house to a christmas reindeer, santa, ginger bread man&girl to other things,i even made my own white picket garden fence this summer to tie off my garden from our patio.I love working with my hands and most of all the things i make are from my mind.I think of something, draw it on wood or big sheets of plywood and cut it out with my machines, sand it,paint it and stick it up,haha. My boyfriends mom is very good at making wool socks. Its unbelievable how fast she can knit a pair of mittens or socks or even an afgan.Shes old now and has bad fingers,so she gave this up awhile back.

My talent seems to be not knowing what my talents are. I have struggled with this for decades. Honestly, I don't know of anything I can do really well. I know others who are good with thinking and creating or problem solving, others good with their hands in many ways. It drives me crazy when I see people that have a great knack for something. I am not envious, but only sit wondering what it is I might be good at. It seems that most people have some things that they seem so natural and skilled at doing. I have tried many things, but true proficiency has eluded me. I am still searching.

I think I am talentless:(
Although, I do have children who have talents. My son is also very talented in welding. He got a job right out of high school and is now the head welder after not even working there one year:)
My next two boys are very talented in sports. My 16 yr old is great in football and wresting. His room is filled with tropheys for them. My 13 yr old is very talented in basketball. He has been MVP many times for this sport.
My daughter is very artistic along with being a great basketball player.
So maybe my talent is raising talented kids.

My main talent is communication and interaction in those who are interested in Zen. It is not an easy path to follow, but those who do follow it are usually totally committed to it. I used to be a professional musician playing piano/keyboards, and I began learning professionally around the age of 7year. I would never be without music in my life.. :-)

I'd say my best talent is my creativity. I have no idea where it comes from but I've always been creative and it shows itself in things like gourmet cooking, baking, quilting, decorating, crafts, writing, web design and oddly enough organization. I organize my kitchen cabinets or other people's offices for fun (shhh.. don't tell anyone, lol).
I've seen some pretty amazing talents in other people as well, like my mom has these weird talent with people. Everyone loves her, total strangers pour their lives stories out to her upon first meeting her. Older people love her like crazy, I swear she's been adopted by like 50 families, lol. My godson, he's 8 and has a really bad stuttering problem but has the amazing talent to sing and rap in both Enligsh and Spanish without missing a beat and without a single stutter. I've always said that kid would be a singer. Oh, I dated someone who had this weird super athletic talent. Never did I not see him play a sport where some offer of going pro was not made, in fact he became a pro hockey player in Europe and a semi-pro at football in Canada. No matter the sport, or how extreme, he always came out the winner. I nicknamed him Mr. Perfect Athlete, lol he hated that. Hmmm... I also have a cousin who is a great photographer and has a talent not only for great traditional portraits but for real art, her pictures and graphic art is amazing.

I don't think I have any specific talent. If I had to choose, I would have to say cooking. At least that's the talent I get the most compliments on.
