What is your myLot MO?

What is your myLot method of operation? When you start a new post how do you "work it"? Many of my friends seem to have post methods, or general topics they like to post on. Me, I like to tell a story and then ask questions. I have also written a few general information type of posts. I see some follow the information, question format a lot. Some just ask questions. Others do news or links and then questions. Or some even include pictures to discuss...So, what do you normally do? Why?

Methods? Working? Topics? *giggles* I don't really have an MO. I do whatever I feel like doing. If I start a discussion, it's because something is on my mind, either because of a discussion I had with someone offline, something that happened in my life recently, or just a random thought of mine. I do try to make everything I do well-written, and I make sure to ask some kind of question at some point in my post because otherwise people seem not to know how to respond. I do have some topics that I post about or respond too more often than others, but those are just because those things interest me in general. It's not some kind of angle to get more responses, or any of that sort of thing. I've always just kind of done what I enjoyed and let the responses and money and all that kind of fall in place. It seems to work for me. :)

I mainly respond unless I have something interesting to start a topic with what I like to do is open my notifyer on all my friends and then every morning when I get up I usually have heeps of topics to answer and that gives me a good start to the day....

Yes I think it is easier to just respond, and yes you get a point every time you respond but you only get a point on your ownd discussion when someone else responds to it so if no-one responds you don't get a point, so responding to some-one elses topic gets you a point immediatelyand I can never think of anything to start a topic with.. :)

I dont have any particular method I just put up a discussion on something that has come to me. How I word it just depends on what it is and what I want to say or know. I prefer to respond to topics more than write them as I find it intersting to see what other people have asked or are about, thats the main reason I log onto mylot, to see what everyone else is interested in or has a gripe about. Some discussions are intersting and sme are just plain stupid.

First off I check PMs. After that I try finding new discussions anywhere (from top discussions, to new discussions, to friends discussions). I'll also check newer user discussions if there is anything worth responding to (a few gems can be found). For discussions, I'll just post what I have the time for, or things I can find and feel are good for sharing/discussion. A lot of the time I just respond to help threads, interest threads or a few discussions I can get a good opinion in.

I am new to myLot so I am still trying to figure out what my MO actually is. Tonight I have looked around a lot trying to find discussions that appeal to me, and even though I have found some discussion threads, I found myself at a loss for words in terms of what to add to the discussion. Some kind of wierd writer's, or conversationalist's block??? I guess I'm trying to figure out how to make sure that the most appealing discussion threads are right in my face when I login, to ensure my own maximum productivity. I guess filling out the "interests" in the most detail is the best way to proceed. I think that I would generally be most inclined to respond to discussions rather than initiating discussions. Am I missing something obvious?

I just do as I like to. I don't do something purposely because I think sometimes some certain topic may be good for the part of people. and sometimes some topics are interesting other people.

I don't have a method of any sort and think my responses reflect this situation. Apparently what is funny or interesting to me is not always funny or interesting to others.

I don't start a whole lot of discussions. I mostly respond to others discussions. I won't respond to everything though. I think it's ridiculous some of the discussions that are started. I won't respond to anything that doesn't require some thought to respond to, or that just doesn't make any sense. I don't respond to posts that you KNOW someone has started just to earn a penny. I don't think it's fair to the rest of us who do put some thought into what we write.

I generally post on topics that I find interesting and/or provocative. These are topics I stumble upon through my reading or are personal observations. I will also ask the MyLot community for advice from time to time. It's a way for me to pick the brains of a wide range of people from all over the globe. Hey, thanks for a great discussion.
