What time of the day do you turn your Christmas lights on?

We dont have light and decorations on the house outside, we only have a little decorations done indoors.The lights arent much, but we switch them on when it is dark outside.I dot feel well when i think that i spend money on useless things like lights when daylight is there. They arent on timer, i just plug them in the socket when its getting dark.

well we usually wait until about 5 or 6 when it starts to get dark outside.we do it manually.

We dont put lights on the outside of our house since moving here..LOL and our inside lights arent even up yet..actually none of our decorations are :-/ When the tree etc is up though I usually put the lights on early evening some days though I like to have the tree lights on all day :-D

Well, we turn our Christmas lights on when it is getting dark. There is no specific time, as long as it gets dark outside then we will just turn on the Christmas lights. We only have one series lights placed outside of our house. It is hanged on a guava tree and it serves as a temporary replacement for our light outside.

When I get home from work. Which is typically about 4:30. On the weekends when I'm home then I usually turn them on between 4 and 5 because that's about when it gets dark. I don't have my tree yet but I pretty much leave them on all the time when I'm home.

We turn our lights on when its dark outside. I love sitting down watching tv with only the tree lights on.. its so cosy :-)

Mine are on all Day whether it is dark or Sunny I will switch them on from the Morning to when I go to bed

My tree is not up yet, but if I am home, the lights are on. As I approach the 20th or 21st, I do lights and Christmas music continuously.

Today is a beautiful sunshiney day so i will wait until it begans to get dark which will be around 5:00...The last few days when it was a little gloomy i would turn them on earlier.No mine are not on a timer, we just turn the switch on.

Ours get turned on as it starts to get dark. We aren't "allowed" to have many lights on at once so we've pretty much been living by the light of the Christmas tree and a couple strands strung around the ceiling. It's not as bad a sit sounds since only one lamp could be on in the main living area anyway so the Christmas lights have brightened things up a bit around here.

We usually turn on the tree lights around 5pm here, That is about when the sun sets. I love to have just the tree lit and all other lights in the house off. I think it is so beautiful.

I always wait until dark before I turn on my lights, ctry, but, as you said, it has been particularly gloomy some days, and I did turn them on early one day. I like to see them because they lift my spirits so much. I don't use a timer since I only have lights on my tree. Sometimes I do wish that I had a house like in the past so I could just go wild with lights.

I live in PA, and it gets dark early, usually I plug them in around 3:30 or 4, I normally get home before my s/o, and it's nice to have them on when he pulls in. And he comes in singing some silly Christmas song that he has put his own words too! lol As for the tree and lights inside, I have them on my staircase, I plug those in all day if I'm here, if not, pretty shortly after I walk in the door from work.

My son usually turns ours on when it starts getting dark usually between 5 and 6 pm. I don't have them set on a timer you have to turn them on manually. On Christmas Eve we might turn them on earlier though.

we have daylight savings here at the moment, so it doesn't get dark until around 9pm - i leave the christmas lights on until 11pm-Midnight and then I turn them off.

The sun sets around here at 5pm or 6pm , so I will turn them on around then.I usually turn them off at 11pm. On Christmas eve, I keep them on all night.

it starts getting dark around 4:30 here in southern ontario (canada) so we put on the lights around then. the tree is up for such a short period of time, we might as well enjoy them!

Well my lights are only on my christmas tree. And starting Thanksgiving Day, my lights are turned on nightly around 5pm or when ever its dark enough to see them . I take the tree down around New Years day.

Here in Montreal, Canada the sun goes down at 4:30. It's snowing like crazy that It's driving me insane. I'm sick of the snow. It's ice cold outside. Right now It's -2 C but 13-14 F. We usually turn our lights on if it gets really gloomy outside or just when the sun goes down. The snow is always beautiful, but I moved here 3 months ago, never seen snow in my life, from Miami, FL.
