My highest interest ranking?
A ONE. So far. A ####! 1! And in an interest people are almost never in and haven't been in for the past few months (science). -_-

I saw your #1 in science and surely wondered what that was about. I rate you plus for almost every post you make in that interest. Yours probably are the best and without doubt among the best in that interest.
I'm thinking myLot has shown once again they know how to kill incentive to produce excellence.

Well now the red text is up so I can see for other discussions (instead of comb through several pages).
As far as the science thing, I'm still baffled over it. Most of the "high levels" for that aren't even in that section any more.

Ok, this is all new and I've only had about 5 minutes here to figure it out but here's what I think. There are TWO numbers. One is your "level", the highest I have is 16 also but I'm really sure that 16 is one of the highest possible. The 56 that the other guy had was probably his "ranking", and that if I'm reading right is his rank out of the total number of users in that interest. So he's the 56th top user for that interest.

i think he meant 56 to be his rank in a certain interest. i look at my interest rankings and the highest level i see there is 16. but i'm not saying that 16 is the highest a member can reach. but that's the highest i've seen so far even from other members' level.
rank and level are two different things. of course the highest rank we can achieve is #1 (i'm number 1 in the interest hamburgers LOL and in cleaning up, cough and JET LI!). i guess we are usually ranked number1 in an interest that we started. ^__^;;

Hi secretbear, so in that 3 interest that you were rank #1 you are the first member? then it would mean that the ranking that we have would be what number we are when we join in a certain interest? but why does it said that the Level ranking is dependent on the rank? i think its not.

I'm actually still confused about this interest rankings..I see level 16 as my highest too.I forgot what particular interest is that though.
I'll give it a time and maybe sooner I'll get how this one works.
happy posting!

No, that's not how it goes. There are TWO different new numbers. Our "level", which apparently is numbered 1-16. I think the higher your level the better but I'm not 100% sure what "levels" mean. Then the other number which you can see on your interests rankings page is your rank out of all the users in that interest. It will look something like 56/18000...that would mean you are ranked 56th out of 18000 users...the lower the first number the better.

Hi larskie! Wow, 56? That is high! haha..I got 16, I think as my highest. I really don't want to be affected by this ineterst ranking because I don't want to get competitive for I might not enjoy the discussions anymore and just get sad when i will only get a little less than 10. haha.. So, i try not to look at it. haha..Although to some point, it does could make us work harder and make us think better on our responses to discussions. Take care and have a nice day! :)

Hi faith. Its not being competitive but this interest ranking is the new feature of mylot, its nice to know how people perceive you here, since the level is affected thru your rankings, since where here, its better that users perceive you on a positive way then being tagged the other way. happy posting.

To have + ratings, one must contribute to the topic, respond according to the topic discussed so other user can give you + sign. and discussions should worth the +. :-)

i think level 16 is the highest. if you look at the section showing all your interest rankings, they are along a bar, and the max of the bar is around 16.
Not sure how they calculate this, but my highest is also level 16 for life.

Because of the way that it is displayed, I am probably just going to ignore that new feature--unless it has a real use that I haven't figured out yet. The highest interest I have, and I have checked out everything yet, is a twelve. Whatever that really means.

This new feature rises alot of question and confusion, but of course it may have some use also.

i think that's great improvement here in myLot, at least when someone negatively rates you, it's only in that particular interest and not on your star... i think the highest i have is on life, rating of 15 :-) Happy mylotting

hi there. it will reflect on both... since your star is reflected on how the whole community sees you. so when an interest goes down, it might also reflect your star. :-)happy mylotting too. and merry christmas
