Just recently I went out of the country to Mexico for the first time. It was the most amazing experience and completely different from anything I have ever known before. The scenery, culture and people was really unique.
Being in Cabo felt like a whole other world and this trip will be something I'll always remember. =)
Have you ever travelled out of your home country? What was it like?

I am from Greece, and last summer i visited Cyprus for a week. Its not exactly something much different, after all we speak same language and Cyprus is Greek either way, but it felt good to visit another country. Second time, i crossed borders to Bulgaria, but only for a day. That was better, because i saw things i hadnt seen and i got the feeling that i am in a foreign country.

Hi,there!I've also had the experience out of my home country. That was very nice and amazing.I like that a lot.I've seen the european countries and experience the life there.I think it's just very different from what I see in my own country. The culture, the people, the style of life, the daily customs and the sightviews are so attractive to me.I've seen many things that I have never experienced before and know many things that I've never known before.I really value this experience though at the beginning I was not very used to the food there. But soon after that,I don't have any problems with it:) Thanks for the discussion and have a nice day.LOL!

Technically I did go to Canada once but it was all in the Niagra Falls area so it never really "felt" like a different country. The only noticeable differences were the street signs in French and the money...although Canadian quarters and nickles show up here alot so the paper money was all that was really interesting.

Hmm...I don't know. I'm sure things are similar along the border but I would think things get more and more different the farther away from the border.

I have been out of the USA a few times. Once to Cancun,Mexico and a few times into Canada. Canada was not that different. In Mexico we stayed at an all inclusive resort. We had a fantastic time. I'd love to go back again someday.

I have been to Mexico and also Europe. It was a wonderful experience that I will never forget. I think most people are pretty much alike if you treat them well they will treat you well. Europe was beautiful. And the food and culture was very interesting. I would do it again.

yes, i am now in costa rica. i am from the philippines. i am half-the-world away from home. as you know, spanish is widely-spoken here and that is not my native language. i am still learning spanish. costa rica is a nice place to study and spend time. people are literally beautiful and places are majestically accessible. it is a small country. and i love my time here.

Despite my poverty, I can't believe that I have had the opportunity to visit Vietnam (north), Laos (north, too), Indonesia (once), the US (once), China (a couple of times) and the most interesting of all, North Korea.
I learned that going out of your country is actually a trip "inwards" - towards your own country, and your own self. I realized people are people and no matter what country they were born or raised in, we are of the same human spirit. Also, the visits to places makes you yearn to learn more about your own country, too.
My interesting trip to Pyongyang is kind of hard to write casually about. I had so many impressions and reflections, though, and I just recently posted some of them in a blog. You may want to have a sense of what is feels to be inside the secretive nation, and to come out ... well, alive? You can read it at http://www.apsense.com/m_article.html. I lived in the US all my life, but when i was 12 i went to Denmark with my grandmother. She was born and raised in Denmark, so it was a real treat! I had my own personal guide. She passed on last year in sept. But the experience was wonderful! I Loved denmark and would like to return in the future. I think my kids would love it and i still have family up there.
And the people are soo wonderful in denmark! I recommend going if you ever get a chance!

I haven't been out of my country :( It's one thing I always like to do. But living in an island seems not as easy as living in a continent like Europe where you just cross borders. But I'm stil looking forward to that day where at least I can visit another country and see its view, nature and know the people there.

I have been to many differnt countries. I am native to the Dominican republic and love it because of the rawness and homy feel. It basically feels like a home away from home. I have also been to st.martin, st.thomas, and Puerto rico. I love to travel!! Especially woith people who know how to have fun.

Yes. My company sent me to Honolulu, HI early this year to attend a training. I also had the chance to a circle island tour around Oahu. The natural sceneries and weather seems very similar to the Philippines: the seas, the trees, and the mountains. I was very much impressed with how organized and clean that city is.

Have been to Singapore, what a disciplined country, what with all the races and culture thriving harmoniously. This is one country I love. Next is the Philippines, english speaking mostly and yes 7000 islands for you to explore. Doesn't it sounds like unlimited fun?
