Someone help me out here. It was my understanding that the number after our usernames was the number of discussions that we have started. Is this correct?
Lately, I am continuing to lose money right and left, and I started doing a bit of research. There are several "friends" who have been posting to my discussions that have huge numbers, but very few, if any posts. Could this be the reason for my earnings loss?
If so, this is an open plea. If you are cheating the mylot system, please do not bother to respond to my discussions. I am here to make money: fairly and honestly. I can't afford to lose earnings because you are trying to bend the rules and have somehow figured out how to manipulate the numbers.

The number next to our name (like yours says 663 right now) is the total number of discussions we've started that have gotten at least one response AND the responses we have made to discussions started by others. It's our post count so it's all the posts we've made except discussions we start that got no responses. That right there might explain the descrepancies you've noticed amongst your friends.
As for you losing money left and right (please take this as me being helpful not critcizing!) maybe you should go over the guidelines to make sure you aren't violating them and to make sure the discussions you respond to aren't violating anything. Usually losing money is caused by discussions and/or responses being deleted for a violation.

My loss of earnings were at the exact time that one of the members was banned. I know why i lost money, that isn't the jest of this conversation. I wanted some back up to make sure that what I thought was true...really was about our post number. *not sure exactly what it is called*

Ok maybe I misunderstood then, I was just trying to answer all parts of your post. If the post numbers for friends are big but they've STARTED very few discussions it's probably because they've RESPONDED to a lot. Both types of posts count towards oru post count. On the otherhand if they have started a lot of discussions but their post count is low it means that no one has responded to many of their discussions. If anything you've posted gets deleted, whether it's a discussion you've started or a response you've made...even if your post was fine but the whole discussion was deleted for any reason, your post count will go down respective to the number of deleted posts.

ok...I guess I misunderstood what the number was for. I thought it was for the number of discussions you had started...not responded to. That makes more sense. I know the number doesn't go up if you respond to your own...like I'm doing now. That makes much more sense to me now. It was just blowing my mind, because I had the wrong information.

That is awful. I am just now getting up to $10.00 this month myself. I haven't been paid since July. Hopefully Lord willing I will fianlly reach pay out. I don't know what is going on. I have seen a few times where I have lost money myself. I know talking about pay sites they delete I am not really sure about anything else.

I simply haven't had time to respond to the posts that are on here that I've started. I feel terrible about it. Hopefully with the christmas season over, things will slow down and I can catch up a little bit. did you have a good christmas? We had a wonderful trip to MIke's parents house in New Mexico.

My rating is still a 10. I don't think it's a ratings issue. I think it's due to a couple of people who are still responding to my posts, but have somehow managed to manipulate the system. Every time they get banned, I lose money, and I suspect many others are as well.

People have answered you pretty accurately, but I notice some errors in what is said. I do agree that this is the time of the month when there will be fluctuations, and glitches. I have not gotten notification of most of your most recent discussions. The number by your name represents responses and discussions that you have received credit for, and images uploaded and credited. Some of your responses may earn more than others. Now is also the "House keeping" time of the month when things are going to be deleted and recredited. The number by your name has nothing to do with how many responses others give you. Try keeping track of what you do on a daily basis, so you can see what might be wrong.

I keep track of all of my discussions that i post. There isn't anything that has been deleted that i can tell...except about $4! Anyway, I guess I'll just keep plugging along because I love being here and talking to all of you.

No, I don't believe the number next to our username is the number of discussions we have started. I know I have not started that many discussions myself. Maybe the FAQs say. I think the number is how many posts people have made to our discussions. Or maybe it is combined with the responses we make.

I don't know. I know that I have certainly responded to more than 700 discussions, so I'm a little confused. I think I've just opened a can of worms that upset everyone and we got absolutely no where because no one really knows for sure how they pay posters around here.

thank you friend. i understand that now. This is why this site is so great because instead of bitting my head off because I had a question, everyone responded with logic, but still managed to not make me feel like a complete idiot in the process. There a couple of the other sites that the people there would have just blasted me and gone on with life without regard for my feelings.

I've just experience the same problem just a few hours ago. My ranking became lower than my known ranking. So I have just got an idea about this problem. Maybe some of my responses were deleted, and I don't know the reason why. Thanks for the info.

I don't see where any of my discussions have been deleted though! I'm just clueless and the powers that be will not answer your questions. It's almost as if they don't really care. Which really gets me, since we are the ones who are keeping their site up and running with all of our discussions.

There are certain discussions tnhat will be deleted and if you reponded to them your numbers will go down. Discussions that give referrals and as said before, discussions about what kind of pizza you like or do you like coffee or tea or starting a dicussion that really can't qualify as a discussion will be deleted. Also discussions that only ask for one line responses as a question with a yes or no answer are deleted. responding to those discussions will take your numbers down

But tell me what makes your numbers go UP when you haven't posted any discussions. I'm not talking about answering someone elses. I'm talking about starting a discussion. It is just frustrating when you follow the rules and others don't, yet you're the one who is being punished.

My understanding of the number behind our name is the number of both started discussions and discussions that you respond to. I don't start a lot of discussions but I do respond to started discussions. I don't think the reason that you are thinking of has anything to do with you losing money. That is what we are supposed to do is respond to others discusssions.

The numbers, according to the rules of mylot are about discussions that you have posted, not responded to. But my question is that if you respond to someone, and then break the rules, does the poster lose earnings? I think that is what has happened to me.
