We really want to see this movie and will likely see it this weekend. However I have only heard bad things about it and the kids think that with all the hype we will be let down. Have you seen it? What do you think of it?

I havent seen it yet but my daughter and I really want to...I've heard bad things too but only from Christian fundies who feel the need to make anything or anyone who differs from their beliefs, lifestyle etc out to be something evil....As much as i've heard bad things though I've also heard great things about the books at least (since the movies just come out) and actually I just purchased the books for my kids for Xmas :-D The trailers for the movie look great! I can't wait to see it!

Man we saw it the other day and I couldn't care less about it. I heard the books are better so I might pick them up. It wasn't that it was bad it was just I really didn't care about anyone in it or the story. There were a few things I did like but not enough to justify the time watching it.

My children's school gave them free passes and they all went with my husband and they said it was a really cute movie. The kids said it had a lot of funny moments.

I haven't seen it yet.. I was gonna go see it last week but went and saw another movie because it was sold out. I plan on seeing it tomorrow though. I've heard good things about it. The guys who work at the theater says its a great movie... I take their word cause they get to watch all the movies they show there free. They are normally who I ask what movies to see and which ones to wait till video. If you haven't seen it by tomorrow night I'll let ya know what I think of it.

I went and saw it tonight and I thought it was really good. It was even more funny knowing the hidden undertone to the movie, I think that made it even better.

Thanks for letting me know though I also watched it and didn't really care for it. Liked the bear, witches and demons, but that is about it.

Its an absolutely breath-taking film, don't buy into the hype of the film critics, thier all idiots, make up your own mind. Its a stunning story, with amazing cinematics and it has the ability to hold a 7 year old in complete awe for the duration, he never even got up to pee....lol....enjoy it, cause it worth every single second on film.

We saw it and actually were bored for the most part. We liked the bear demons and witches but the main characters we didn't care much for. But I guess it is just personal interests.

I have not seen the movie. But my son is a first grader in catholic school and his school actually sent home a letter advising parents that maybe we should not let our kids see this movie. I was like WOW school is telling us now not to let our own kids see a particular movie. Supposely the end of the movie mocks the catholic religion. The letter said the movie was made by an atheist.

they also told us how the movie ends but I will not go into that as I know some people plan on seeing it and I would not want to leak the ending

I also heard about that too. However the director apparently lessened that part for the movie. That isn't a concern for me though because I don't let faith control what I watch. I heard the ending was a let down for many but there are two more books and another on the way. I heard it was a Lord of the Rings wannabe. Too bad. I will likely see it and make my own opinion on it. Thanks

I haven't seen this movie, but my experience in general is something that is greatly anticipated is often a let down. On the other hand, other people saying bad things doesn't mean it is bad. I often find the critics to be wrong, at least for my tastes. Go ahead and see it and make your own decision, don't go by what others say because you may like it anyway.

Yeah I agree with you. Sometimes I am not in sync with critics either. However lately they have been right for me. I will likely see it anyways. Thanks
