i have got a new job not long time ago .totally speaking ,i like the work,it is a challenge for me . but i really don't like a few part of it----to attend the endless dinner or some party for the purpose of business. my job is the secretary of the chairman. i just want to take the job to do my best to assist the chairman in office work except some social work,i am not good at it and i do not like it at all ,my boss is crackajack and get up and go with his work, i respect him. maybe there is some reason for he to choose me as his secretary,now,i am confused,shall i stay to improve my ability about the social work or to talk with the boss to choose the right job i like. help.friends~

Hey hilary,
At times humans are in some stage of life where he cant choose. He got to do what life is offering him. I guess u r in the same spot now. Well to be frank i think you should continue the current job.
I think of u r young and smart the nu will do fine. look at the other benefit u r getting from the job. If u r getting good package then dont quit just for the nature of the job.
So best wishes from me, and remember life is a challenge and we all have to accept it.

you are right ,as the last answer ,i must meet the problem which life take it to me and try to solve it. the only thing i can do is to balance the profit which is more important for me ,ye? this evening,maybe i will lost myself~

You can try to stay and improve yourself in social interaction and other aspects of the job. It may develop you as a person, much more than other jobs perhaps. However, if you feel very uncomfortable and unable to perform at the job, then you shouldn't stay. You have to do what is best for you, but in the end its in your hands. Do you really need this job? How difficult is it to find another that can suit your lifestyle? You say you like the work, would working through and staying through some of the downsides be really worth it? Those are important questions to ask yourself Hilary.

I think the nature of job you have makes you work like this. or more preciously it entails you to attain parties and all. I think it can't be avoided all the times. But make your boss understand that you are his nsecretary at offivce, not outside. Try to stay away from some parties telling family committment. that way he will understand you don't want it that much.

Congratulations on your new job Hilary!..^^
I guess it's better if you try to learn the social part of your job first..^^..I think afterwards you'll get the hang of it..^^..Everything can be learned as long as you put your heart and mind on whatever it is that you're doing..^^

Hmm, I am speaking from experience. Just don't do what you don't like. You don't seem to be completely satisfied with your job. Find out what you really enjoy doing, and try to make a career out of it. Don't just do anything for the sake of income. Enjoy your life as you earn! If you don't, you will end up frustrated and unhappy, and life won't hold any meaning for you.

Having harvest has to having cost,this is everyone must to be bear of life. so,you think again,you still like the word except the dinner and some party,it brought you income not only, and that realize your life value,your happiness of the work should be more than affliction of it.

Actually you are very lucky, because you got a job which you like. In order to support their family, most of people work for money even they dislike their jobs. I think you'd better to improve your social work ability if you think your boss is nice. Work here, first you can work for your interests, second you can earn money and then you also can know many new people during your social work, maybe someday they can help you. LOL
