I had to go to the er day before yesterday.....I was walking across a parking lot and stepped into a hole which made me fall.I hit my head really hard..saw stars and was a few minutes before I was at all clear....Had to have a cat-scan and xrays of wrist and knee..I have a concussion, sprained wrist and knee..My back is sore and so is my neck!
My son went back to take a pic of the hole and there are 2 of them...And the best part the guy that leases one of the stores told my son that he has been complaining to the owner for months....These holes are about 18in square and about 6 inches deep..Someone said there was once signs in the pavement!
Oh yes and broke my glasses..the only pair I have...
I have had a headache since..The dr office called to check on me today and they think I should go in to have another ct-scar of my head and neck...Isn't that just great!...
Tomorrow is a new day..tomorrow is a new day...tomorrow is a new day...tomorrow is...

I think soon pains will go away.It was a matter of extreme bad luck, and some people's dumbness.I dont know if you can press charges against someone, but at this state you should probably take after yourself a bit.Things that have happened cant un-happen, so try to forget it and focus on reviving from the hit.

Hi, Raydene, I am sorry you got hurt, I hope everything works out well for you, but I think you should get another Opinion too. Sounds like you were in bad shape, make them pay for your doctor's bill and your Glasses. And get a Lawyer, this sounds serious, and someone else will get hurt if you don't complain. Be very careful!

OH MY! I am glad you are still firmly enough together to drop us a note on the Lot. Is there any chance that property owner will pick up the tab for the medical, and a new pair of glasses? What if you get a lawyer? That is so dangerous. Tomorrow is a new day, as you said, but not much fun if you are hurting both physically and financially. It could be others are getting hurt as well.

I am so sorry to hear of your misfortune but I was in disbelief that a doctors office would even call you. I'm thinking I wish I lived in your town or city in the United States!!! Here we don't have any support at all. Our hospital has closed as a hospital and went to a care lodge and right now there isn't even a doctor. It's awful. As far as no one wanting to fix those holes I think it's time you speak to a lawyer, that's what I had done one time and because I had injured my knee so badly I was awarded 10,000.00. The claim was actually 14,000.00 but the lawyer got 4,000.00. I think you should follow through with doctors orders because sometimes these injuries come back to bite you hard later.

I'm so sorry to hear that you took such a bad fall.
The roomie broke her glasses about 6 months ago - and since she is legally blind WITH the glasses, you can immagine how well she fuctions without the glasses. Happily, the glasses place still had her frame style in stock & was able to fix them by getting her just new frames. But then one of the cats for adoption scratched the lens right in the field of vision so she does need new glasses, but not as badly.
I hope you can get this resolved with the property owner - who's probably going to claim that you should be able to see the darn holes - moron.

Whiteheather,
I'm feeling a lot better today.
I don't really like lawsuits.
I think lawsuits just end up costing us all more in the long run.
If they pay from glasses...
and they pay the hospital bill...
Can't fix the hole...
I will be happy

Gosh, I sure hope you're starting to feel better! I would most definitely see a lawyer and don't for one minute think this is a case where you don't deserve compensation because you do. It's a clear case of negligence by the owner and he's lucky you or somebody else didn't have a more serious injury. Especially since he was aware of the hole, it's not a case where he could claim it just suddenly appeared from out of nowhere. That's great you have a doctor that called you back, that's very rare indeed these days. Hugs to you, hon, and I hope you're feeling better. Tomorrow IS a new day!

Mom you really have to be more careful - what with you and my Gran having accidents and hurting yourselves I am getting worried! I do hope you are feeling better and that something is done about those holes or has already been done! I know a blind lady who earlier in the year fell down a hole in the pavement - it had been raining for weeks and she could have drowned in the bottom , why do the authorities let these things happen?
Hope all your tomorrows get better and better!
Love you Mom! xxxx

I am so sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you are ok and that there are no serious injuries. Breaking your glasses and really a horrible thing to happen. If you are like me, I can't function without mine. That's why I always keep a spare, just in case.
Maybe this incident will push the owner into taking some action and fixing those holes before someone gets SERIOUSLY hurt or killed. How did the new ct-scan turn out? Keep up posted as to how you are doing.

Sorry to hear about your fall Raydene. I hope you are going to take the matter further, (they were pretty big holes), because there should have been signs at there to warn people. Besides all the trauma of falling and hurting yourself, you have the added expense of having to buy a new pair of glasses.
Did you have another cat-scan of your head and neck? I hope you are ok, and I'm thinking of you. Let us know the results.

Did you report it to the store? I sure hope so cause that will make it a lot easier to get the owners of this property to pay up for your medical bills.
I'm sorry you are having to go through this. I hope that you get to feeling better soon and that they pay up for what happened to you.
Keep us informed on how it goes.
