I have been having a problem for about three months now and i finally went to the doctor yesterday..... he became very concerned and made a urgent appointment with a gyn. and said he has concerns that i might have cervical cancer...... I wont have the test done for about a week because it was the first appointment that i could get.... now we are all so worried and scared as we dont know what is the problem. the doctor also told me that while my blood cout is good my bone marrow is having a hard time keeping up with producing iron for making more blood so my red cells are extreemely small and recommended until the problem stop i should take iron pills. If you have gone through this proplem please tell me how you made it through

Yes i had a scare like that 35 years ago and i was just frantic.I went to the doctor for a regular pap and the test came back and the doctor called me in telling me he was pretty sure that i had cancer.Oh i was so depressed thinking i would die.I went to get a second opinion and i did have active cancer cells,so he took me off of birth control pills, and you guessed it i got pregant..Well then i was worried again thinking about the cancer cells and the baby i was carrying. As it turned out the cancer cells cleared themselves up..I had my baby and when i did i had hemmoraging, then when she was 3 years old i had to have a hysterectomy. The doctor told me that had i not had the surgery that i would have had full blown cancer withing 3-5 years. My gyn doctor told me that a lot of women get cancer cells but they never activate.I would not worry yet, just wait until you take the test and if it is true that you do have cancer then have your uterus removed asap...Chances are it is a new thing and can be removed without a problem.I know a lot more about it now and cervical cancer is usually slow acting and can be removed by a hysterectomy..Just take your iron pills you probably are anemic, which i am too, but as long as you take your pills you will be ok...Just make sure you follow up on your test ans do not put it off..It might Not be cancer too.

Thanks for your experiences, i am going for a new test on friday the 21st and they said possible a D&C as well then they did say that if it were found to deffinatly be cancer that they could do a hysterectomy. I am taking the iron pills, and praying that its nothing. Thank you for your suppport. I do appreciate it. I will also do some research on it and learn more so my family can be comforted as well.

I think that you have a lot of options at this point since you caught it in time.I think you will be fine, its just so scarey when you get bad news like that, but usually the treatments are many and they do work for you.

I've never been through this myself but had a friend who did a few years ago. That 'waiting' for the tests and results was very stressful and seemed to take forever. It's not easy to do but best to try a positive attitude - once you know the results then you can deal with the problem and get on. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a good result and comfort while your waiting.

I have been with my sister eversince she was diagnosed with cervical Ca.She's battling it now for 2 years. As I encountered this illness, I learned that there are a hundred strain of virus called Human Papilloma Virus.Out of the hundred strains only four are deadly or cancerous. It is actually the man who is a carrier of this virus and gives it to the woman. Our body should be able to normally flush this out from our system, but if the host have lower defenses so the virulence is deadly.A breakthrough from science, Gardasil vaccine is now available in the market to prevent cervical Ca.But only when a woman is not sexually exposed, the 100% assurance of protection is guaranteed when a woman receives it below 18 yrs old.But according to my sister's Gyne, if a woman beyond that age and is sexually active a 75% protection she gets from the vaccine is better than no protection at all. My sister had twice chemo and radiotherapy plus three surgeries. She's turning forty this year.Good thing is it was early detected and so the prognosis is good.Don't be afraid, pray and be hopeful. What you can do best is at least to lessen your worry and eat a healthier diet so your immune system will have defenses against infection.I pray that everything turn out good for you.Iron supplement will be good for you too, only thing is you should take plenty of fluids especially orange juice as the side effect is constipation. Goodluck! There is always hope for cervical Ca when detected earlier...

While I've not gone through any of this, I am thinking of you and praying for your better health. I don't know what else to say, but I wanted to share some goodwill and wish you well. It may not be much, but I had to say it.
