There are special drinks out there, creams and concoctions, there are drugs to keep you healthy and your pocketbook empty. However did you know that the intestinal tract is the basis of a good - or bad immune system? It makes up 70% of your immune system.
And the best part of getting this and continueing with a healthy lifestyle free of processed foods - your sh&t doesn't stink!
Are you overweight - do you have bowel problems, low energy? Do you know you could literally have a toxic bowel, which can toxify your whole system if your digestive tract isn't eliminating the wastes and toxins your body processes in an efficient manner?
Do you know when John Wayne died they found 40 pounds of impacted waste in his digestive tract - talk about a toxic system!
Considering he's quoted as saying, "Women have the right to work wherever they want, as long as they have the dinner ready when you get home”, its possible its just due to him being a sh^&
The plan for me - as soon as I get done nursing - colon cleansing. We learned about it in school. Do you know what happens - besides recovery of that little toy soldier you swallowed as a baby - you'd be suprized.

According to my teachers:
Renewed energy
Weight loss - if your digestive system isn't functioning at an optimal level the basis to a healthy metabolism is taken away
Increased mental clarity - toxins actually impair mental health - go figure!
Decrease your stress! Apparantly, when you toxify your body by a life time of Western foods, it effects your emotional health as well. Your depression, anxiety, stress can be balanced by ridding the body of toxins
Fight the common cold! Immune health can be compromised by a system clogged with toxins.
Lower the risk of colon cancer and other diseases. Have it in your family already - remember - age and heredity may influence you but doesn't have to determine you!
Reduce headaches or eliminate all together - headaches and other pains again - very often can be caused by irritation from the toxins traveling the body
Your body won't starve anymore - that's right starve! I bet if you're overweight you look twice at this one - but withougt the proper metabolism/absorption of food your body is literally starving!
Some also believe you can help athritis - toxins - there's that nasty word again - worse then reading it over and over is the knowledge that your body can be full of them right now - in the joints is thought to be the basis of many forms of athritis, eliminating them with a cleanse and following healthy lifestyle changes - balanced nutrition (less processed food!) can alleviate this condition
There are many more reasons - curious - do some research - scout out the difference between going to an office and having this done and doing a colon cleansing program at home, most systems will detoxify your liver and other organs as well. The office procedures are usually accompanied by herbal aids as well. You can bet after a lifetime of processed food your liver may be suffering too, as well as any alcohol or medications you've taken - I won't even go into that one!
Its intereesting to note that many people didn't even realize they weren't functioning at an optimal level until they had a cleanse.
In short, you can move towards homeostasis - balance of the body - and mind with proper colon cleansing - as with anything - do your research - be thorough! I really felt motivated to write this, I wrote it once and lost it! And I diligently wrote it again - although I did think to copy part of it just in case that happened - I'm using a lap top and don't always freeze the touch screen and it gets me in trouble.
Your thoughts become things - make yours good ones!

Common knowledge and news to me Arte. Great post and discussion though, it should be out there. The toxicity of the body can drain the system in the ways you describe. Putting in more fruits and vegetables in the diet can help. Also being more physically active helps the body's internal mechanisms become more active. Having a sedintary lifestyle slows down everything.
As for post losing, remember to put these things in wordpad or Microsoft Word. I also use Opera and it keeps my post if I accidentally hit back or another link.

I can't imagine anything being news to you, you seem to be chock full of info about a wide gamut of things.
I agree with you about being physicaly active as well - it help as you describe, and alleviates, stress and anxiety, and both together can help restore balance.
I don't know what the program Opera is....
I like eating well, but haven't always, so I definitely want to do a cleanse fairly soon.

I'm so glad you eat well - I hope you don't limit your diet to vegetables and fruit though - that's unhealthy. Do you agree with the colon cleanse as well? It helps rid your body of toxins that have built up over the years in your intenstines. I plan to have one after I finish nursing.

As a life coach part of what we do is to suggest healthy living choices and bringing the body, mind and spirit into balance allows 'nature' to take our biologies where they were meant to be. So few consider that the body is already a self-renewing organism and only breaks down when (as you mentioned) homeostasis is disrupted.
I am all for cleansing...but not in forced, radical ways. I am curious...are you talking about colonics when you mention a colon cleanse? Or, are you suggesting a colon cleanse by using supplements, whole foods and buying a juicer to and making a combination of juices to not only cleanse the colon but liver and kidneys and blood stream? The body operates as a synergistic whole and the colon does end up being the final stop for the toxins in the body...but without considering cleansing the body and varies organs as a whole it could still be a symptomatic cure.
I trained with a naturopathic doctor who was not a huge believer in having too many colon cleanses such as colonics because it may cleanse out the 'bad' bacteria and but it can also upset the natural homeostasis of the bowel. In my view whole person healing is a multi-layered process and it involves bringing the body, mind, emotions and energy fields into harmony. Disease...or a lack of ease in the body rarely comes from JUST what we eat or drink...it can come from unhealthy thoughts, unbalanced living and not making sure the in-go and out-go of our energy remains aligned to who we perceive ourselves to be.
So I agree that cleansing has its place...but only with consideration to some of the deeper and more expansive aspects of who we are.
Good topic...interesting discussion as always. No easy fixes in life. My work is about helping others live more 'conscious' lives. Sounds as though we have similar goals.
All the best to you and yours,
Raia

RAia, I love this - just skimming over it, I'm so tired - I meant to do this only for a short time. I will return to read this more in depth. It makes sense though. however, this feel right and did since I first heard it. I was talking bt w of both kinds. But I know herbalists and chinese doctors so they can actually suggest cleanses I can do at home. sorry, gotta go soon if I can just pull away!

Hi again...
Glad you enjoyed my feedback. I could have written volumes more...but with your level of awareness on things I knew you would get the gist of it. Balance is the key to me...in all things. No too much exercise, or 'efforting' about things...when we keep our body, mind, spirit, emotional and energy fields balanced Nature really does know how to look after things. Sometimes we just need to get ourselves and our belief systems out of the way and listen to that still place Within...everything we need to know is there.
Anyway, look forward to chatting more...and we'll keep more in touch I hope because it is always a pleasure to connect with you.
