How Was Your Sunday?

My Sunday got off to a good start for a change. I woke up around 8:00 A.M. and started my coffee maker. By the time my coffee was ready I had washed and prepared to lounge a bit. Being determined to catch up on some of the movies I have not had a chance to watch, I selected a Harrison Ford movie, Firewall. I sipped my coffee and enjoyed the movie-only pausing it once to make toast for breakfast. Following the movie I had some furniture re-arranging I wanted to take care of. I then prepared my chicken breasts to place in the oven for dinner. My daughter phoned and said that she would be dropping by. I was very happy to see her and her daughter, whom I had not seen for several months. I accompanied them back downstairs where I introduced my friend to them. I also invited my friend to eat dinner with me. She came up shortly and brought with her my favorite Christmas movie, Home Alone. We watched that and then ate dinner. My daughter had brought me some frozen green beans which were the best I've had in awhile. She also brought brownie mix, and I just took the brownies out of the oven a short time ago. So how was your day?

My sunday was quite busy. I had to be up early and cook for the day because our older son had his school Annual Day and would be out of the house by noon and he had to have his lunch before that. The function would start at 2.00 pm and we had to take lunch and get dressed soon after he left (lots of planning with a one year old tagging along). And before he left, our son needed to take a shower and be dressed in his costume (he needed help with that because it's an Arabian costume and it had lots of fittings which he couldn't pull up himself). We dropped him off at the bus stop at 12.10 pm. And soon after that, I received a couple of phone calls from family (which was very brief because I didn't have time to chat). Anyways, we made to the auditorium by 2.00 pm and the function began soon after. We were there till 7.00 pm. We were proud parents because our son got 2 awards for academics and he was in an Arabian dance. We also had a hard time keeping the little one occupied (he slept for an hour after which he wanted to walk around). My husband and I took turns managing the little one. By 7 I was really hungry and we went to a restaurant for dinner....which was too early for them and we had to wait quite a bit to get dinner. I was totally exhausted by the time we got home and went to bed soon after we got in. I have no idea what happened after that...apparently my husband fed the little one and put him to bed. I woke up at around 3.30 am.

That was quite an eventful day, SViswan! Congratulations on your son's awards. I know you must have been asleep as soon as your head hit the pillow, LOL.

I decided to allow myself to be just a tad lazy, by sleeping later than normal. Didn't go out today..I usually make a point of going out everyday but decided to stay home and finally get a Teddy Bear finished as I had an order for one..now it's all done and placed it and the suede pouch I made for the person who wanted them..won't mail them tomorrow but on Tuesday...The PO is a nightmare on Mondays..LOL
After I finished the Bear, and packing everything up, came here to do some MyLotting--I'm SO behind in everything here :(
You actually have energy to watch a movie while fixing breakfast? I tend to like quiet with maybe just the radio on low to hear the news.
Oh--Home Alone..love that movie...I have to check my VCR.. I have a lot of movies on tape rather than DVDs...and I must have unhooked something one time when I was cleaning in the back of the Entertainment center as no sound comes out from the VCR...not a pleasant job to try to do..so many darn wires back there!

I do it all the time, pyewacket-watch movies while cooking, that is. I also hate it when I need to check something behind my entertainment center. The thing is so heavy I can't move it, so I have to wait for some to move it for me. I guess I've got a hundred VCR movies that I refuse to part with. My TV in the bedroom only has a VCR player on it, and that is why I hate to get rid of it. How far do you live from the P.O.?

I'm not that far from the PO--it's virtually down the block from me, but even when it's not the Christmas season, the line is so l-o-n-g. And was listening on the news today, that December 16 or 17 is usually the busiest as everyone is trying frantically to mail stuff out in time for Christmas

Mine was good. I got up and taped two of my favorite films. And I saw the Packers beat the Rams. Favre broke Marino's passing record. And then I saw the Eagles beat the Cowboys.and now it looks like the my red skins are beating my Giants.

My very good friend is a Redskin fan...I'm sure we could hear her all the way from Oahu..she spends every Sunday losing her voice while routing for her teams!!! Our other good friend is a Giants fan...so they are probably burning up the phone lines!!!

yesterday was fine for me. a little bit busy because i was wrapping gifts for my officemates! ^__^
i started a little lazy because i slept late on Saturday night because i watched National Treasure and thank God i did because i found out it was really a nice movie. now i'm really waiting for National Treasure: The Book of Treasure. ^__^
i woke up and turned on the tv and listened (yeah listened, because i was half-awake and my eyes were closed LOL) to the morning mass. i was starting to doze off when my little nephew climbed up to my room and woke me up asking me to play his favorite show "shaider" on dvd. ^__^;; so i was forced to wake up and i wasn't able to finish the mass.
and then i washed my undies, took a bath, groomed myself while my bestfriend was sitting beside me and we're talking just about anything particularly the useless relatives in our lives. LOL and then she went home.
after that i went out and shopped for gifts i wrapped that afternoon for my officemates. our Christmas party is on thursday and i didn't want to cram on wrapping. ^__^;;
after that i succumbed again to my nephew's tantrums and played his another favorite show on dvd. ^__^;;
and then i watched Kid's Nation and Ghost Whisperer while packing some clothes. ^__^ after that, i did my evening beauty routines and retired to bed. ^__^

You were very busy, secretbear! It's so nice that you take time out to enjoy your nephew, because they are memories that both of you will always share. I hope all goes well with your office Christmas party!

My Sunday was busy! My mother, who had been here since Wednesday, was going to be leaving yesterday, and we had some things to get done before she left. So, we all got up early, showered and dressed, and were ready to leave the house by 10 AM. We spent a couple of hours visiting my husband in the hospital (see post from me coming right after I send this reply for full details on his being hospitalized). After that, we went out to lunch, did some shopping, then came home and loaded Mom's stuff into her car so she could head out. After she left, I started dinner for us, then the girls and I watched a video. We ate dinner, cleaned the kitchen, and then I talked to my husband on the phone while we all watched the finale of Survivor.

That was busy, THKOhio! It's wonderful that your mother is supportive of you. I really miss my mom so much. Sorry to hear your husband is in the hospital. If I remember correctly, he was hospitalized earlier in the year. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Wow! I loved that film Home Alone, but sadly I didn't get an invite lol! My Sunday was great, had my normal lie in, then went out and dug the garden, worked up a sweat, did my usual daily online competitions, relaxed had mum's best roast pork dinner and all the trimmings then crashed out in front of the tv. Watched some youtube vids late at night, overall a great, varied day for me xx

Sounds like you had a nice day. And to watch "Home Alone" sounds fun. It is a good movie.
I was here all day by myself as my husband wasted his time and went to the Rams game. Called our oldest daughter to wish her a happy birthday since today is her birthday. Later in the day we went to the casino, played awhile, had dinner and came home to finish some laundry.

Ehh...not so great but could have been worse. S/o is in one of his lousy moods so I just tried to stay out of his way. It's snowy and bad weather here so that wasn't any fun. The channels the football games were on kept going out. The baby hardly napped... but s/o's mom finally decided to baby proof! Yay, there's a big victory!

Sounds like you had a wonderful Sunday worldwise. I got up early Sunday morning to get ready for work. I had a hard time sleeping because our neighbors upstairs were having a party and I had to use a stick to bank on the ceiling a few times. They eventually finished their party around 1am.
I was at work from 8am-6pm and then did a bit of shopping, had Macdonalds for dinner and then went home to wait for my son. He was with some friends at a Christmas festival event and didn't get home until 11pm. By then I was falling asleep on the couch. We went straight to bed and woke up late for school this morning :)

My day was busy and not quite as productive as I would have hoped. Since we had the water damage in the basement that has comsumed me...and since we haven't been able to identify where it came in, we can't really put everything back the way it was even though it's all dried out and the clothes are washed, dried and ironed...we have to make sure everything has a buffer between it and the floor...so that takes up a chunk of time..
It has really put me behind in all the things I want to enjoy and do for Christmas..but I went out and got a Christmas tree today and my husband helped me get it in the stand..so later tonight I will put the lights on...I still have my 5 miles to walk on my treadmill, but I got a major portion of our Christmas cards finished and mailed along with some packages. I have lots of wrapping to do and planning my menu for Christmas Eve..I just love our family's celebration...we have so much fun..I moved all the living room furniture around to fit the 6 ft tree in !!! We usually have a huge very round tree..but this year I cut down and went with a "leaner" look...it really makes me happy..I love the Christmas tree..
Now I am taking my break, checking my email and preparing things for work tomorrow before I watch a movie and do my walk..I'm much later than I planned on all of this...but you do what you can.. I am blessed that I can do all that I do..
Now when I get the lights on the tree I will sit and admire their beauty...it is a time I love...then tomorrow night after work I will decorate most of it and have the little ones over on Tuesday eve to "finish" it..I am really missing my mom tonight..Seeing her decorations in my boxes and knowing how much she loved this season...just makes me relive many great times with her..
So off I go...to run in circles perhaps..or perhaps to actually accomplish one or two more tasks..
Wish I was at your house...warm brownies are my favorite!!!
I will do my baking on Wednesday and Thursday..and my eating will go on and on!!!! LOL.
Have a great night..

I would say you've had a very productive day, rx4life! It seems that no matter how much we do, we never think it is enough. I think you should relax and take some time to smell the roses. Glad you got your tree up, and it is great that you are looking forward to the upcoming festivities. I know what you mean about your mom. This will be my first Christmas without my mom and I find myself thinking of her often. She also enjoyed the holidays so much.

My Sunday was good also, got up, made coffee, had coffee with my s/o. Read and responded to some discussions on here, straightened up around the house, and did some scrapbooking. Watched the Cowboys football game, and we went to bed early and watched a Christmas movie. It was a good day to stay in and just lounge around, since it was icy, snowy and cold out.

My sunday was really sucky. I ended up going to the hospital saturday because i thought i was in labor. The nurses "confirmed" that i was dilated much further. Come to find out they were wrong. So i thought i would get to come home sunday but i didnt. That was due to the fact the roads started getting bad. So all in all sunday was a horrible day.

Sunday is usually my day to be productive around the house-- clean, do laundry, do dishes, vacuum, and tidy up. Sometimes, it goes as far as getting out the broom, the mop, the disinfectant spray, the windex, and going all out. I tend to be somewhat of a clean freak, but I don't clean everything as we dirty it, so when I do clean, I usually am a perfectionist about it because I feel like everything is gross after a week of negligence. Well, yesterday, my Sunday was quite the opposite. I didn't do anything. I literally laid around and watched TV all day. It was the laziest Sunday I have had in a LONG time. I get very lethargic and depressed in the cold seasons, so it's a struggle each day for me to get up, get ready, and be productive. I don't know why. I'm convinced that I have seasonal affective disorder. Anyway, my Sunday was lazy and wasteful. But- I'm making up for it today. I've been cleaning since I woke up and I'm still working. Blah!
