Are you concerned about water? What steps do you take,if so, to protect yourself? Do you buy water, boil it or do you have a water filter on your sink, shower or directly on your water heater?
If you do take steps, what do you think it says about the water the city puts out?

The water in our town is considered safe to drink by the authorities. However, it is heavy on the mineral content and therefore has a bad taste and causes diarrhea in many people (till there bodies adjust). We have always avoided it and buy our water in 5 gallon water bottles and put it through a water cooler system.

Hi, I'm so glad that you don't have to be conerned about your water.
Here's one article I found about minerals in water, minerals are both good and bad for the body. I do doubt that you're getting that much - especially if, like most, you don't drnk a lot of water.

The water here is supposed to be safe to drink, and i bet it probably is, but i tend not to drink it. It's chemically treated water, so it tastes really bad. I buy bottled water to drink, but for everything else we use normal water. It's also funny, the water at my house tastes differently then the water at my friends house which is about a 10 minute walk away. The difference is, she lives in a newer part of town, and the house i live in has been here for probably close to 75 years i bet! And although it has been renovated again and again, i bet they dont change the pipes very often huh ? Especially the pipes in the street that carry the water. Ew, How dirty they must be. I'm scared to think about this now!

Yes, I am very much concerned about the quality of water I used for drinking. The water supply in my area is not goo dfor drinking. The TDS level of water is much higher which is not good for drinking. To have a good quality of water I am using a RO Water Purifier System. Its 5 step water purifying technology purifies the water upto the maximum level. It also have UV purifying technology which kills the germs inside the water and purifies it upto the optimum level. I am very much satisfied with my Water Purifer.

I'm just reflecting here that if gee, if anyone decided to do a real full blown terroristic attack on us, all one would have to do is contaminate the water supplies especially of the bigger cities where common reservoirs are our water supply. I think in some ways, water contamination is more frequent in the country where many people rely on well water. I'm always for instance hearing of some area out in Long Island, which isn't to far from me, that people should boil their water until further notice as there's some kind of bacterial contamination in the water.
Naturally when I cook and use water I always boil it first. But I pretty much rely and get bottled water...big problem now it seems as reports have said that the plastic that holds the water has carcenogenic properties...great! So like what does one do? I really can't stand the taste of tap water and water filters can be pretty expensive

Well I'm not as concerned about the water. There are times I'll get bottled water just to be different or for future storage. The water doesn't do anything too funny, doesn't taste funny, nor does it look funny (good so far =P) I know there could be plenty of "lil' critters" inside even if filtered in some cases. Again, not as concerned.
