So we are now running out of new shows and the reruns are hitting us in December. The Writer's are all still out on strike with no end in sight. Even if they do settle the strike sometimes at the end of December or January, we probably wouldn't see anymore new shows until mid to end of February or March after taping. Do you think they will proceed with this season and show us new episodes during the summer when we typically have re-runs? Or do you think they will show us more re-runs--maybe seeing 3-4 episodes of each one?
Wouldn't this be a nightmare? What do you think will happen?

I guess I'm ok with that b/c there are A LOT of shows I am catching up on now and watching reruns I haven't seen. Besides the fact that most of my favorite shows are reality TV and they don't need writers anyway.
I think this writer's strike is crap anyway. It's not like I can walk out and go on strike with all the other Web designers of the world! So how can writers or actors do this. Oh well, I don't know how much money they make but I can guess it's more than me.

I believe in what the writers are striking for. I think they are entitled to a bigger piece of the pie.
Now if they do not make new episodes then everyone loses, from the top to the bottom. I think if the strike ends then the companies will have to make the new episodes to try and recoop their losses. I also think they owe the networks, I would adminage there is some type of contract to go by.
I have been watching a lot of the Christmas movies because I am tired of the reruns.

I think as soon as they get new shows, they will air them. They are going to need to make some of the money they lost.

I think they will cut the season short. Instead of, say, 22 new episodes, they may only have 15 or so. So yes, we will most likely see reruns 3 or 4 times. That's why I like having reality shows to fall back on.

They are putting alot of reality shows on in place of the regular shows One major show will be starting in January which takes up several nights a week and that is American Idol. Celebrity Apprentice will be on along with some new dance shows and a new game show. I just hope my House and ER come back with new episodes.

As of right now, I'm just hoping that the strike is over in time for next season because this season is a wash. I'm not a reality show fan so Netflix will probably become my best friend.

You are right. There is very little hope for this season. I think we will go into mega reality shows and game shows because the networks will lose money on showing reruns more than once. We have already started watching more DVD's from Netflix and we haven't even hit the official rerun season. grrrr!
Have a wonderful holiday season!

Most shows did say that only had enough shows taped to run until the middle of December. Having said that, it is Christmas time and we would be subjected to reruns now anyway. But we'll be watching them for a lot longer if they don't resolve these issues. We have a whole new slew of reality/game shows starting with "The Duel" and "Clash of the Choirs". And Bruno and Carrie Ann along with Drew Lachey have a new song & dance competition show starting in January as well. "1 vs 100" is due back in January as is Celebrity Apprentice. You may not like reality shows but I suppose it's better than reruns.
What's the deal with airing a great "Deal or No Deal" episode on Christmas Day? Guess I'm going to have to set my VCR for that one.
