My one year old - almost my 13 month old - is 22 lbs. He even gets too much for my husband sometimes as he's not used to it. I'm so glad he's much more independent! How about you - how much does your baby weight and does it ever feel like more at the end of the day?

My almost 11 month old weighs 19 pounds. To me she is not heavy at all, but I also carry my 70 pound 7 year old around the house sometimes when we are playing around. He is getting heavy, but I can still grab him by his ankles and swing him back and forth upside down.

That's cool. I used to do that to my neice and there are always cries of more! more! When he' teething or unsure of the house he's at - he wants to be held for hours! So his 22 lbs gets heavy. Plus, I tend to only keep him on my left side as I'm a lefty. He doesn't like the snugglies for babies - where you can have him in a peapod or a back pack for front or back contraption.
What about yours - will he allow himself to be tied to you with a baby carrier?

EAch baby grows in their own time and way. I know what you mean about looking forward to it - from birth to I don't remember when I stopped anticipating - I couldn't wait until my baby was bigger and sturdier and I didn't have to worry. He has grown steadily - and lost his soft spots at nine months, and he's no a year and so much bigger and stronger and sturdier!

My 20 month old weighs about 23lbs. I don't carry her normally. She wouldn't allow that anyway but we had to get to the kids' school yesterday and she walks really slow and wants to check out all the Christmas decorations in every yard so I carried her. It was only a couple of blocks and by the time I got there my back was killing me.
I used to carry her a lot when she was a baby--before she hit 20lbs.
My son was the worst, though. He was very clingy but a pretty big kid. I remember being 6 months pregnant with my daughter and he was about 10 months old and weighed 23lbs and all he wanted was to be carried. Carrying that is hard to begin with (as you know) but add being pretty pregnant to the mix. Ugh. Luckily he learned to walk shortly after that (he was 10 1/2 months). He's 6 now and I can barely lift him because he is over 50lbs.

My "smallest" weight is a 21-22 pound 13 month old. We went to my oldest's winter concert. I chose to stand in the doorway since there was no way I was going to try to keep him amused through the whole thing from a seat in the middle of a big crowd. Anyway, for some reason my normally bubbly little ham decided to turn shy tonight and insisted that I hold him the entire time...this after having to walk all the way in from the very back parking lot. I wanted to get more done on here tonight but my arms still hurt to much to type much.

I hear you. Some days when my baby is teething or not feeling well - or like your story - unsure of his surroudings, he wants to be held - for hours! If I'm out and about with my husband I share 'the load' with him.

Hi! I have a 19 month old, who is only 19 lbs. Although she is incredibly light, I feel like I am always carrying something. She loves to be near me. She's very independent, but when I'm cooking or trying to do housework she wants to be up in my lap learning whatever it is I'm doing. So my petite 19 month old does feel like a lot more at the end of the day.
