Do you prefer to know?

What's inside? - A surprise of course, and I like surprises.

I always loved surprises. I think I was probably the only kid in the world that didn't go look for the hiding places of all those Christmas presents LOL But I prefer to wait and be surprised on the day. I don't think my husband got it yet - we're only married for over 20 years, he didn't have time yet LOL - he doesn't like surprises that much so he usually either tells me what he's getting me or sometimes gives it to me right when he buys it instead of waiting a bit for Christmas. He did it again this year grrr I loved his present specially since we don't really have much money and I wasn't expecting anything, but I so wished he would have kept it hiding or something until Christmas . AM I the only person that prefers to be surprised and wait for that special day to know what presents she's/ he's getting?

If it's a piece of bubble gum or a diamond ring...don't tell me!!! I love the surprise element...and never expect a gift..but whether it's homemade or some designer brand...just don't tell me...let me have my surprise moment...I'm NEVER disappointed because I NEVER expect anything!!

I like surprises also , but then I like everyone in the family snuck a peak just before Xmas just a glimpse ... I always felt guilty about it and was never a good actor so after a few times I stopped , so I didn`t have to pretend that I didn`t know what it was ...

I always had one small that I would "allow" the kids to find. SO they would be all happy and would stop looking for a bit hehehehe

Can I say both? I love surprises, but I love knowing, too. Which makes the time just before Christmas difficult, because I'm fighting with the part of myself that just wants to make people tell me what they got me -or, the part that just wants to rip the presents open early- and the part that doesn't want to spoil the moment of finding out once Christmas gets here.

I love the gifts that I get to be surprises. Although I have to admit there were a few times as a child that I can remember snooping around the house to see if we could find a few presents. I think I like it even more when the gifts that I am giving are a true surprise to the person I give them to. I love to see the look on their face when they open a gift and it's something they love.

I remember when I was a kid, my cousins used to look for the presents all over the place. I couldn't understand it, because when I knew in advance it wasn't as exciting anymore.

All persons get surprises and shocks in their life time and some get more of the first kind and some get more or all the time shocks depending on circumstances. I am glad to note that you are fond of surprises and hence your husband knows how to please his wife and good thing he has done it this year too. Wishing you a very happy merry christmas and hope you will continue to get surprises throughout your life.

Oh you take me back to the time when I was ten and accidently found my presents in the closet. When that happened it took a little of the fun out of the gifts. I had not even been looking. I would rather be surprised. Even now. We dont have any more this year but we did buy a small aquarium which we called "our" present. But alas, I still enjoy the surprise of opening a gift.

That's exactly it, when we know, it does take a little bit from the fun of the gifts.

LOL,my daughter loves to know. She would look all over the house for her presents when she was little. Now that she is a bit older she is showing some interest in being surprised as well, but most times she still prefers to know.

Oh, he sounds just like mine. I am likely to get a Wal Mart bag the first thing that he walks in the door, no wrapping, no suspense, no guessing. I just had a marvelous time, I had wrapped my daughter's family gifts and brought them downstairs, because they are leaving tomorrow. My son-in-law thoroughly examined the oddly shaped packages, and made a big production of his curiosity about the packages, it was really fun.My husband will buy things and want to give them immediately. I like to have something to open on Christmas Day. I am not expecting a lot, I will probably get more for my hubby. I have had some unique presents. One year he got me a chiminea for Christmas, and hid it in my daughter's room. She, of course conspired with him, and they hid it under a blanket.I love those kinds of surprises. My lack of curiosity drives people nuts.

I too love surprising. I think it is nice to get suprise gifts from someone unexpectedly than to look into the hiding place or to know the gifts in advance. I always like my presents to be well hidden from me and to known it during the Christmas time. I think it is not the price of the gifts that matters more, but when and how they were given is more important. I think it is nice to get it as suprises when we least expecting it. I hope you get lots of gifts from your friends and family memebers surprisingly during the Christmas.

When I was a child, I always wanted to know what my parents got me for Christmas, before the presents were opened. Until one year I found the presents they bought me even though my parents had tried to hide them in a good place. After my initial excitement, I felt let down and disappointed with myself. I really learned from that. Now I want to wait always to open gifts. If I can get my family to wait for Christmas day, I do because the longer the wait, the more excitement builds. Merry Christmas!

I can wait until Christmas morning but my husband -NO- he'll wrap the gift and the closer it gets to Christmas the more tempted he is to have me open it. Right until the night before, he'll ask me to please open at least one. It's frustrating.
