Do you drink water in between your meals?

My granny used to say, not to drink water in between, as it occupies the stomach space and we cannot eat much and later we feel hungry. But I have to drink water in between. Otherwise I feel something is choking in the throat. How about you? Do you drink water in between your meals?

No, I take water only after my meals that too after 15-20 minutes of consuming meals. I also feel that taking water in between meals does not help and is not good for digestion.

Yes, I do drink water in between meals. It helps me swallow my food easier. And I know the benefits of drinking enough water in a day. So to make sure I am drinking enough water, I did it more often.

Hello dear Buchi_bulla. I seldom drink water in-between meals. I usually have some soup at meals. I think that your granny is right to say so as I cannot say no to what she used to say. Thanks for your discussion.

not often.
'cause i don't like to have salty foods.if they are,i shall take some soup to feel better.and if you eat slowly and chew with enough cae,i guess you wouldn't feel sth is choking.besides, these eating manners are really good for digesting.just for reference.

I do drink water between meal. I was just thinking about it this morning because I started my diet today (after holidays) and I don't want it to be a strict diet for the first few days because it would be such a shock for my body. My problem are not the meals but those things that I eat between meals. I know that's wrong but I can't stop myself sometimes so today each time I wanted to reach for chocolate candies or something salty I just drink water instead.

In your case it is helping to avoid fatty things to maintain diet. So drinking water instead of eating chocolate candies is better.

If you drink water in between the meals, it will occupy space in the stomach and your intake of food will be reduced. After a short time itself, you will start feeling hungry. That is why elders say not to drink water in between meals and drink at the end when the sufficient quantity of food has gone into the stomach.

Water is healthy drinking. I carry a bootle around with me all day long. One reason is because I want to fill my stomach up, so that I DON'T EAT too much. LOL

I agree with you. Water is really good and it reduces our eating. My discussion was about drinking water in between your meals. If you drink water at the time of taking your lunch or dinner, the intake of food is restricted.

You are right. We must drink lot of water and it is good for health. What I was telling about was drinking water in between your meals.

I drink a lot of filtered water in betwewen meals. (The water in our area is not great... the filter removes the impurities) I keep a glass of water next to me at the computer, when watching TV, whatever and take lots of sips so I probably drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. And if I'm going on a long drive, I bring a thermos. From what I've read, it's a healthy habit. I feel better when I'm "hydrated" :-)

Yes. You feel energetic when you drink water. You have a very good habit of keeping the water next to you always.
