Spaced - coming to America?

Okay, so Spaced is my absolute favourite TV sitcom of all time. I've heard they're thinking of making an American version - does anyone think this would work?
I think it's got potential, but I just don't think it's necessary

I doubt it will be good - but it probably will be a great money maker - much like The Office. Unless it has Pegg in it, I probably wont even bother watching it.
