Ravelry and other knitting groups online

Just wondered if anyone here had become a member of Ravelry, and if so, how do you like it? I've signed up but there seems to be a waiting list for invites so I havent made it onto the site yet, but I am quite intrigued by it. I gather you can use it to organise details of your yarn stash, patterns and so on as well as being somewhere to talk to other knitters. What do you think about sites like this, do you know of any otehrs?

I am a Ravelry member and love it! I have made many new friends, found knitting patterns I like, yarns to buy, stitch markers at Etsy shops. It is a great site and group! I am KnittinDeb over there when you get in.

This is a new one for me... sound interesting! Up to now, my best knitting buddies have been a 3-ring binder and my set of circular needles!

I have been part of Ravelry for a while and it's seriously a fab site! The yarn stash is great but I find even more amazing is this: you can search for patterns, yarns and there are discussion boards for everything and anything - from non-knitting related stuff to destashing. I remember buying some yarn via Ravelry and I've been using it to look for freebie patterns! XD Plus it's good for making new friends. :)

no i have not yet become a member of ravelry nor have i ever even heard of the online knitting group called ravelry it seems like a pretty cool group to join and i will have to check into it and see what it is all about and if there is a waiting list for intitations or you have to be approved before you join it sounds like a popular place to hang out online and it sounds like a pretty safe site to visit i would try to join but i would not have the time to be online and give the website the attention that im sure it deserves
