Man Tried to Sell His Soul

I was listening to the Kim Komando show on the radio the other day when she happened to relate this story: It seems there was a man who was down on his luck so he came up with the idea to offer to sell his soul on Ebay. The upshot of the whole thing is that he got no offers-he requested a million dollars. Kim suggested it might have been because he had this little jar that supposedly contained his soul. She figured that if you were going to put your soul up for sale it should be in a much larger container. I thought that made sense. What about you? Would you offer up your soul for a price?

wow is that even possible, to sell your soul? It's not a tangible item. I guess you could sell your soul to the devil but that's a whole other thing. I could see why no one would buy it. I mean it's not a piece of toast with the Virgin Mary on it!

This man was obviously desperate, angelface. He was not aware that you don't own your soul.

Hmmm....I'm wondering how he got it out in the first place? Oh, wait a minute I don't want to know. That's way too wierd if you ask me. Could you really put a price on your eternal essence? It is after all everything that makes you, you from your entire life. I don't think I would sell mine.

I think selling your soul could be a dangerous thing espescially if he sold it to devil worshippers because they could use it if it has been given to them. The only one your soul should belong to is God. If you make the decision to give God your soul then you will be rewarded and reap the benefits. That is why you have to make the decision to follow God because if you reject God then He will stay away from you because God is a gentleman and doesn't go where He is not wanted.

As I said, Mickie, I don't even believe it is possible to sell ones soul.

My soul is the only thing I get to keep forever. You can lose your friends, family, spouses, kids, your possessions, you can ever lose your religion , but your soul you Never lose.It isn't anything tangible so no one can say how big it is.And for me, there isn't enough currency on the planet that could tempt me to sell my soul.

I agree, sarah. No matter how low a person's spirits get they should never consider such a thing.

In this material world, everyone is just looking towards money, everything is for money. And also,I am looking for the money for my family. But I would never offer up my soul for a price, because for my family, my soul is priceless and I couldn't sell it.On other side,my soul is useless for others

You are right, zhwbeast. A person has to be crazy to even consider doing such a thing!

my soul is priceless. no amount of jewelery or money can buy my soul. i wouldn't trade my soul for the world. the funny thing about your discussion is that 1 million dollars is really a cheap price for someones soul.lol.

I suppose that would be selling it on the cheap, keminem. I don't know how anyone could place a value on their soul.

I thought it was bad when someone was selling the "air" celebrities had breathed at the entrance to some awards show last year! Or, I think it was someplace like that, I know it was supposed to be famous air! I'm actually surprise he didn't get a buyer! If he'd have started the bidding lower, he'd possibly have gotten a few hundred, or even a few grand with the idiots that buy on Ebay these days. Now, I don't mean anybody who buys from Ebay is an idiot, just that there are certainly some who are...lol!

He should just write a piece of paper that has his name and soul on it. But if he were to sell his soul could he sell his soul again? You gotta to think about that. He can't sell a jar with air in it since there is no way to confirm there is a soul in there. He should just write his name and soul on a piece of paper that way ebay can't take it out since it abides to the rules.

I just think it was a dumb idea to begin with, spiderlizard. This guy evidently has too much time on his hands.

that is too bad he had to pay the ebay marketing fees on $1 million for that...of course a soul wouldn't be in a jar...and so that is why no one bought it...it unfortunately just doesn't work that way! nobody is going to buy an empty jar for $1 million. He would have been better off to create a website requesting donations.
