There are many little things we can do to help save the environment.
Here are some of the little things i do:
1. sorting out recyclable materials like bottles, plastics bags and newspapers.
2. not wasting water-closing the faucet after use and making sure there is no leak.
3. by supporting our city policy on proper waste management.separating biodegrable materials from non-biodegradable materials.

Thats great! You're doing quite a bit to help the environment. I also recycle bottles, plastic bags, and newspapers. I also always try to turn off the facets when I'm done using them. Our city does not have a policy of separating biodegrable materials from non-biodegradable materials though. We don't do compost anymore because we have no use for it.
Good On you!

I guess little things people do count. I reuse plastic bags and make used bond paper into pads so I could use them as scribbling pads that way I no longer need to buy scribbling pads and get to really use the paper before I throw them.

Wow thats a really neat idea. I like how you bond paper together to make scribbling pads. We sometimes use old scraps of paper but don't often bond them together.
What do you use to bond them together?

I use padding glue but Elmer's can bind paper together just the same...

Its good that you don't smoke. Smoking is bad for your health as well as the environment. I think I should plant more trees too but I'm terrible at keeping plants alive. You live on a colony? Where do you live?

I think the only thing we really do... is save aluminum cans... oh yeah... we use natural fertilizers... you know.. from our animals... they do wonders on the rose bushes! LOL

It sounds like you do like to think about the environment in your everyday life. This is a refreshing change. 5 years ago the majority of people wouldn't even have given it a second thought.
Keep it up and keep this world green and beautiful!

Thank you! That is a great message. I will definately check out that link. In Canada they have a pretty good program called flickoff. I believe its www.flickoff.org
Its really good because it attracts youth's attention.

Right on. Saving energy and conserving water are very important. We have a lot of resources here but quite frequently in the summer they put on water restrictions because of the low level of the reservoires.
Saving energy and water also saves money!

Wow wait to go! That is a really hard thing to do. I have been cutting down a lot recently and going months without smokes but I can't quite kick it completely. I find chewing gum helps a bit.
What do you do to fight the cravings?

Yes, saving the environment is a big task. But i want to be a part of the solution, so here are the little things i do to help save the environment. I save electricity by changing the lightings to CFL which is energy efficient, making sure that when i put off an appliance i unplug it. I recycle papers. I do not smoke because it can contribute to air pollution.

Awesome! I really like your attitude towards the environment. I agree with you. I unfortunately smoke. I feel really bad for doing it. Its my one vice that some day I will get rid of.
I do all the other things though.
Thanks for sharing

The usual stuff, recycling paper, plastic, glass and metal cans. Try not to use the car a couple of days in a week. Avoid water and electricity waste.
By now, we should be pushing a little further like using solar roofs or better insulation, the government is subsiding so it's time for a step forward.

I'd really like to use solar roofs. I don't own my own home though so I don't really have say in that. We got new windows and replaced a couple of doors. We got a rebate from the hydro company for making our home more energy efficient.

those are some great things that you do for the environment! Things like not littering, and picking up after your dog also keep our living spaces clean. I don't know about you, but stepping in doggie do do can definately make my smile turn into a frown.
I like that you use your grass clippins as natural compost. I don't think anyone has mentioned that one yet. My mom does that too as she uses a push mower.
Thanks for your ideas.

Recycle whatever I can (namely empty aluminium cans and glass bottles). I also reuse things when possible and reasonable.

Reusing is also very good. We often donate things to the SPCA thrift shop. This is great because it also helps the animals at the SPCA. We often trade items within my family as well.
Do they do recycling pick-up where you live?

i think the persons consumption habits can do a big effection on the environment.for instance, people shopping in the super-mall can always be attracted by the goods that with beautiful package ,by the reasonable price, but for me,i 'd rather choosing those goods designed with environment protection concept,if there's a choice .sometimes such goods can cost you much more money,i don't care coz i believe it is worthful.so when i want to buy some batteries for my digital equipments, there's no hesitation that i will choose the rechargeable type, though it's more expensive than the alkaline-batterise.and also ,i'd like to persuade my friends and colleagues to do the same thing as i did.^_^

Actually the recharable batteries end up being cheaper in the long run. I've used them for years. When you have digital cameras etc the money you save from not having to purchase tons of batteries is great.
