Well the news is out that Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant at 16 by her boyfriend. This is Brittney Spear's younger sister. She is an actress and thus far has been a good role model to teens, unlike her big sister. Her mother was in the process of writing a book on Parenting. It was announced today that the book will be put on hold indefinitley. I think the recent actions of her two daughters will certainly hurt the sales of the book or make it impossible to sell. Maybe Mrs. Spears should write a book on "How Not To Parent"? What do you think? And would you buy a book by Brittney and Jamie Lynn's mother on parenting? Would you trust her advice? I'd love to hear your opinions on this one! Happy holidays to all!

personally i dont like either of them. i think that britney is an awful parent, and a really bad role model for our children. i think that they need to be more aware of their influence on the youth of today!

As both her daughters turned out to be quite promiscuous teenagers, spreading their misdemeanors by their popularity with kids... I'm gonna duck out on any parenting book written by Mother Spears!!! :) I would rather give my money to a children's charity, where I know they would be properly cared for. Brightest Blessings in wishing you a Merry Yule and a Happy Christmas.

I think the publisher knew this book would now be doomed. Good move on their part by axing it when they did. Happy holidays!

No - I certainly would NOT buy a book on parenting by Britney and Jamie Lynn's mother. I don't think she's done that great of a job as a parent. Look at how out of control Britney is right now. Now Jamie Lynn pregnant at 16?! Yikes!

Mooch, I agree with you that Jamie is being very mature about the ordeal so far. I hope that she continues on this path!

Thanks, but I'll pass. I think the results will belie the wisdom (?)of the advice, LOL! Have a wonderful Christmas and new year, kareng!

Seriously, there aren't many good role models for young kids and teens to look up to anymore. It's sad!

That's very hard to believe. I would think that half of those kids just said that. Remember--don't believe everything you hear! Happy holidays!

MSV that is very good to hear :) I'm glad to know when I have kids that I can affect them by being a good role model.

I think she is one of the last people I would like to take parenting advice from!

What parenting advice? Dress your daughter like a hooker and sell her to the highest bidder? Tell her whatever she wants to hear as long as the money keeps rolling in and blame the kid when the gravy train derails? I think that's just common sense. You don't need a book to learn that. Where is the father of these kids hiding? Isn't looking at K-Fed, laughing hysterically and then drop kicking the loser into the next universe before the wedding sort of the dad's job? And why did a 16-year-old girl have a live-in boyfriend on the cusp of a statutory rape charge? I'd rather get my parenting advice from Peter Griffin or one of those animals who eat their young.

It's a sad situation. And now the younger daughter is pregnant. Hummm. I think there must have not been any rules in that house with those girls growing up!

i would never buy a book from her on parenting, that's like charles manson giving advice on being a good citizen! or advice from jeffrey dahmer on how to be a vegetarian! lol! I love the how not to parent idea, i wouldn't buy it, but that's the book she should be writing!

I would never buy a book written by her but I fear MANY women would b/c many people are drawn into the name of Spears and want to know what she has to say. Sad but true! I would not trust her advice unless she said "do the exact opposite of what I did" Personally, it doesn't matter what celeb mom wrote this book, I wouldn't buy an advice book from a celebrity. I'm more interested in reading books written by Doctors or Experts in those fields.

You are right, some would buy it just for the "Spears" name. Sad, isn't it?

Ha! Yes! This is the anti-parenting book if I have ever heard of one. Give me a break that she should be talking about how to parent. I would never want any of my kids to emulate any of the Spears clan.

I thought it was intersting that she wants to raise the baby in Louisiana. You would think she would want to run, run, run. And with that said, we haven't heard from Paris Hilton in some while. I'm sure we will have a headliner soon. She can't be outdone,ya know!

Far be it from me (parent of 2) to be judgemental but....come on! The record of these two young 'ladies' is hardly a benchmark for parenting skills. I know they are their own people but some stronger parenting may well have rescued them earlier. Maybe it's the young child - showbusiness thing???

I think the young-child show business thing may have something to do with it. The girls probably didn't attend a normal school but had home-schooling or schooling on the road. I'm not sure about this, just guessing. Growing up in a show business household seems to focus more on business and forces the child to grow up faster in my opinion. They don't get to experience every day things that your child or what mine did. They miss a lot of childhood and family experiences. They are probably not really that "close" with their family either if you really think about it. Could be something to that.

Lol! I think I'd buy the book just for the comedy value. To see what SHE thinks. And then critisize the hell outta it. But I don't know what she was thinking writing a book about parenting in the first place, I mean COME ON! Britney is in a horrible state, an who pushed her there? Her mum! Atleast Jamie Lynn Spears was a bit more mature about it and took two weeks to herself to decide what to do on her own, so that no one elses opinion influenced her.
