Do you get to See your Relatives at Christmas?

I came up with this topic because in about 45 minutes I will drive to the airport to fetch my sister. She's coming over for Christmas..yay!!
So that made me wonder if all of you are as lucky as me to have all their close family members with them by Christmas or not. I am thinking specially of people who live in huge countries like the USA, where distances are really big, so they might not be able to make it.
Do you get to have all your family with you at Christmas? If not, why?

I'll be spending Christmas with the love of my life, and his family. I wish I could be with my family, but we live 1600 miles apart, and we weren't able to go this year. However, all of my family will be together, my daughters and my sister and her husband, will all be at my mom and dad's, and I'll pick up the phone Christmas morning and call them. With Christmas always having been a big celebration and a time for family in my family, it's kinda hard not being able to be with at this time of year. I'm glad you get to have your sister with you. Merry Christmas

with some relatives yes, because i have neighbor relatives with my father side..but on my mother side, it's impossible because they have their own families then they quite far from us, maybe we can greet each other through text messages..but for me i really wanted to be with my relatives together with my family coz it's really great happiness, with lots of kids, surely with so much fun..

We will be spending Christmas Day with my mom and dad. They only live about 3 miles from us, so we see them about once per week. It's great! We won't get to see my brother, though. He lives half way across the country, and he just couldn't make it here this year. We see him about once per year, sometimes every two years. It stinks, but we can't afford the airfare to get out to see him, so I have to wait until he comes here. Have fun with your sister!

Thank you for your kind words, blueunicorn. And yes, I will have fun with her, no worries there hehe. It's a luck that your parents only live 3 miles away from you really. A pity about your brother though, let's hope that next year you can all be together. Thank you for replying.

actually, every year, my family would get together with my aunts and uncles at my grandmothers house...and this year, we will do the same!...hehehe,,,
but some of my relatives would not be present this year, 'coz they are working abroad, and they cannot go home 'coz of their work....sad, but still happy, coz it's Christmas1....right?

I'll be able to visit with about half of the family this Christmas. We're going this evening to visit with my grandmother and my sisters, as well as hubbys mom and the brother in laws family but we can't afford the trip to see the rest of the family. Our family is rather spread out, even though we all live in the same state. :)

My family is quite small and our mother is getting quite frail. We have always gotten together at Christmas, either going to one of the other's places or all gathering at Mom's.
Well, Mom's is no longer an option, but my brother has a nice condo here in town.
My sister is flying in with our uncle for Christmas. Our uncle coming is a first, before he would spend the holidays with his son - who, as some of you know, passed away last summer.
Back in the 80's my mother got her aunt, our great-aunt, down for a bit for the holidays before our aunt got unable to travel and then passed away.
I'm guessing that my brother's daughter will come in from Colorado, her mother's people have a river house in New Braunfels they generally go to for holidays or will go on down to Houston where her people live.
I always enjoy seeing my family, especially my sister who is fun to be around.

The relatives that live close to me i get to see. But other then that no. This is the first year my brother wont be home for christmas so its going to kinda suck. Hes in the military and hes not taking his leave til the 29th. So thats why i wont get to see him. But he will be here for new years. And for the birth of his for nephew. So thats even better. =)
