Today is the CET's day to Chinese college students. Do you know something about the CET?
Well, it is an important English test for most of the college students. It's said that if you pass the CET-4, you can find a good job after graduate, a better job if you pass the CET-6. So, you can see, the English is very important in finding a good job or other things.
After the CET-6 this afternoon, I feel terrible for it. Because I think I have failed in this test. It's my second time to take it, and still don't make me feel better. The time is a big problem for me. I don't have enough time to finish all the questions...lol...
My friend Nini said that the CET doesn't make any sense. Well, maybe she's right, but the fact is that most of us are eagering to pass it, inculeding me. Every time after I took this test, I feel my English is very terrible.. lol ..
I just want to pass it..lol..
Any help?

Coincidently, I am also a Chinese university student. But I am not under the terror of CET-4 or 6, simply because I am an English major and all English majors only required to take the TEM (Test for English Majors). Objectively speaking,CET-6 is not very difficult in terms of vocabulary and sentences. The biggest impediment, according to some of my friends taking the CET-6, is the time. Only 35 minutes alloted to finish 3 reading passages, 1 cloze test, and several translation items. But I do have a suggestion. You could make a calculation to see if the listening comprehension weight greater the the reading. If not, you should give the listening part, I mean you need not listen to it, and try to finish your other parts first. Just for your reference.

I think that perhaps English is a hard language to learn, it is very irregular. Is your test in spoken or written English? Anyway, if you have any questions regarding correct English usage I am happy to help you
all the best urban

Well, you're right, English is a hard language to learn... And my test is in written English, if you make a high mark, you can take part in the spoken English test...
And thank you for your kind help... you're a good-hearted man...if I have any questions, I'll think about it... thank you~
All the best ^_^

This reminded me two years ago, I has tried CET-6 three times, two times with score of 59, then i keep trying, only before my graduation, i have passed it with high scores, i don't think the result of the exam means everything, but one thing is sure that if you have it, you get to have more confidence when facing the employers. If you don't have, I suggest you practise more your oranl English, imagine when you take the interview, if you can answer all the questions in English, what a proof!

Hi,zlesing!I take CET-6 exam this afternoon as you. Also I feel bad because I haven't finished it .Last time I passed it but I think I should try it again. Then I find this time the test is more difficult than the last time.So I hope you will not be disappointed and just make an extra effort. If you have done a good job in reading and listening parts you will get a good point.Best wishes!

like i said in another post,it's just an certificate means nothing to you, just an exam can't show your ablity, you can't communicate with the interviewer when you're having an interview, how come to get an offer?
