TOKYO - No time to take your suit to a dry cleaner? Just turn on the shower to wash it at home.
Washable suits are already available, but Japanese clothing company Konaka says its "Shower Clean" line of business suits, which can be washed in a warm shower and require no ironing, is one-of-a-kind.
Konaka says the suits — made of a lightweight fabric easy to clean — will be available in February in Japan.
The firm's Web site shows how to clean them: Reverse the jacket and pants, put them on clothes hangers and douse with warm water for a few minutes to clean the inside. Repeat the process to clean the outside and drip-dry.
Konaka is targeting job-hunting college students who go through a period of job interviews as well as young businessmen living alone, company official Shigeyuki Tsuchiya said.
"They often don't have time to take their suit to a dry cleaner and it's difficult for them to iron a wool suit," he said. "Our suit can return to the original shape easily after a shower."
The suits, available for both men and women, will be priced between $260 and $492, according to the company, which has some 320 stores nationwide. -
Wow that was cool Isn't it?

This is expensive for me. But it can be very useful and helpful as well. Everyone will enjoy its benefits.
It saves time. And it also is something that most of us look forward to. Having something convenient for us to use.

Then it becomes shower for shower sake. We have seen people spending hours soaping their bodies. I feel this alternative innovative stuff is not ideal and will not serve the very purpose of taking a shower. Thank you for your response and I take this opportunity to wish you merry christmas and a very happy and prosperous new year. Goodday.

I read about this on MSN this morning. You know, that suit doesn't sound like a bad idea to me at all. Yes, it's very pricy, but if you were a business man/woman, and, or, an international traveler spending lots of time on the road and in hotels, I can see where it would definitely have it's benefits. I'd kind of like to see what the material looks and feels like. Still, if it looks nice and is so easy to keep clean while traveling, I'm sure many people will buy them.

Hi lyn,
great to hear from you after long. Hope you are just doing great.
Shower-ready suit sounds interesting. Even though it's pretty expensive I think, it would be helpful for working ladies mostly who, struggle to sqeeze out time for chores and laundry.
Smiles..
WISHING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MERRY XMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Inventive, but I don't see myself using it when its available. Pretty cool yes. And I'm not surprised at the innovations though. Keep them coming.
