What have you done today? What will you do today? I have already been to the local grocery to get eye of round beef roasts to fix for Christmas dinner. I have been waiting a week to hear if my daughter in law would like me to do Christmas dinner, and what they would like. I wanted to go to the grocer because the meat is better than Wal Mart. I am going to go to Wal Mart in just a little bit, because I want to get some things for hubby. Then I will wrap, and do a little crafting and painting. Hubby's sister says, "twelve days of Christmas,we will get presents sometime in that time frame. Merry Christmas to all who read this :

I am going to do nothing today. I may saddle up a horse and take him for a ride after while, but I'm not going anywhere. I did all my Christmas shopping yesterday and got all the supplies to last me until Wal-Mart opens up day after Christmas. I don't dare go to Wal-Mart on Christmas Eve. They close early, around 6, and as a result, Wal-Mart is a mad house!
I know Wal-Greens will be open Christmas day, so if there is something I have to have, I'll go there. Last year I ran out of milk and just had to have some, so I went there.

I have everything purchased, and will possibly take a walk or something, to start getting some fresh air to my head. I will paint some little snowman buckets made from cans, and I even decided to make myself one. I am spending this break doing what I can to relax and enjoy the season. Merry Christmas, give your horse a carrot from me!

Merry Christmas. It's now 10:15 this Christmas Eve morning. I've been up since 7:30, studying, yep studying, the user's manuel for my new Nikon digital camera! He finally broke me down and I opened a gift early! And what a surprise! and there is still more to come, at least that's what he says lol. I fixed coffee, and he fixed breakfast, steak, yummmm and waffles. Just stopped by here for a few minutes, and then back to learning about my new camera, so I'm prepared for tomorrow picture taking! But, not shopping to be done today, no rushing around, just enjoying the day, and taking more pictures! lol

I went in to work at 7 a.m. and managed to get off by 12:45 and home by 1:15. Hubby is still stuck at his workplace. I don't imagine we'll be going to the store at all today. Hubby gets irate at the crowds.

We can cry on each other's shoulders. I am glad it is the job it is and not the other I go to on Wednesday. Part of it will be updating my training schedule. All computerized. It is okay, as hubby will be working too.

I have been to the grocery store once, and Wal Mart twice. Hubby just went back to work. He did not get any shopping done he just realized. He will work until 6:00, guess I get a lump of coal. I was scheduled to work this evening, but all of my clients are gone to their family homes. Do you get Wednesday off?

The boss is opening the store 2 hours later, so the girls who normally go in at 8 are going in at 10. I normally go in at 10, so said I wanted to go in late also and come at noon since I worked today on my day off. She said, "Late! When!" and when I said noon, she said didn't I have prep work I needed to get done and I didn't want to get behind. Sometimes it feels a little unfair around there...poor pitiful me. LOL

My Christmas Eve was somewhat different from yours, as you would have seen by what happened a few days before Christmas.
I raced around during the day to buy a pet mouse for my daughter. I already had the cage. I also bought straw & mouse food.
Had to buy urgent foods too.
Then home I went to set up the mouse in its cage & hide it in the carport.
My husband remained somewhat depressed during the day.
I did some ironing.
I had already finished wrapping presents.
I put on roast beef for tea.
Friends arrived for christmas drinks. These re the ones who spent 4 hours with my husband & me talking about the issues arising from my set up sons attempted assault.
After tea, we watched a bit of TV & we went to bed fairly early.
It was quiet, & I got things done, but it wasn't the same as usual.

Depression is rough, and even more so around the holidays. I hope things can work out and you can have some joy again. So you bought the girl a mouse? My niece gave up on rats, our supplier did not have healthy ones. She was given a pregnant guinea pig, and has been having fun since the babies arrived. My first husband was always depressed at the holidays, in a passive way. My former brother-in-law had drunken binges and broke things and hurt people. I suspect that underlying health issues contribute a lot to seasonal depressions.

Merry Christmas to you! I'm reading this around 6:40pm and my day has been quite full. I didn't think it would be, but it was. My dad had me come over because he couldn't wait to give me one of my Christmas presents. We're supposed to open them all tomorrow, but he said I needed to do it today. Then my mom and had lunch, and did some stuff to get ready for tomorrow. It will be nice to be with my dad and have his cell phone off. That thing never quits ringing! : )

I did have a merry Christmas. Talking about the gift my dad got me makes tears comes to my eyes because he humbles me with the amount of love he shows me. My dad has had to learn to show emotion because that isn't how he grew up. But over the years every time he gets excited about something, we all do because he has worked so hard to express himself.
So I have been driving a 1998 Nissan Altima for a quite a while. I bought it about 3 years ago but have wanted to go to a small SUV or a small pickup because getting into a car is really hard on my back. My dad besides being a pastor, buys and sells things for his friends and they pay him a little fee when he does this. Doing this he has been able to support he and my mom in periods where she was too sick to have a job. He has also surprised me by filling my car up with gas when he knew I was having a particularly rough time.
I came over that day and he came in later and pulled me outside. Right out front was a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup. He had bought it wrecked and fixed it up. That is also how I got my Nissan at a good price. Anyway, he had spent the last 2 months worth of nights at his mechanic friend's place helping him and another guy fix the pickup for me, including new interior, and a new paint job. It also has less miles on it than my Nissan. I got into it and absolute no strain was put on back! I was almost in tears. He had sacrifcied his free time to work on this so I would have it for Christmas. He plans to sell my car, but that will mean him taking a 500 dollar loss for him because of the lesser value of my car. So he put in 500 dollars of his own money for me to have something that is better for my health, and easier for me to haul things. The smile on his face was so beautiful. I just hope I expressed my gratitude enough. My mom told me he has wanted to tell me for the longest time, but he finally finished it and couldn't wait any longer.
Anyway, that was the gift that was so special. I'll have to get a picture of it. It's a very beautiful shade of scarlet/purple. That sounds weird, but I can't think of the exact shade it is called.

I went shopping at the mall (yes I braved the mall today for a last minute gift for my daughter), went to walmart and then sat around the house. I only had that last minute gift to wrap so pretty much I did nothing all day.
Hope you have a very merry christmas too!!

Ah--so you decided to have a roast too? I'm so looking forward to mine. I bought everything last Friday, and froze the meat so it would stay fresh, but took it out today (Monday) to start defrosting. I actually had kind of a lazy day, which is unusual for me, since I have the workaholic tendencies. I just went out for a little while to get some fresh air since I can't stand being cooped up all day, and might even go out a bit tomorrow even though it's Christmas.
Hope you have a great Christmas!! ;)

Well, we went to try and get the van taken care of. The alternator stopped charging last night and we need to get it fixed. It does not appear to be a do it yourself job for this time of year. I am off until the 27th but we were planning on using it on the 26th to get my son to the airport. He is in the Navy and has to fly out at 6:30.

Oh, I sure hope you get it taken care of. Mine is limping along. It spends time on the charger on a regular basis. Probably the starter, hubby says. Merry Christmas. I got to be a Navy wife for a couple of years.

i'm just now gettin around to answering this. Today, I came back to work for the first time since the kids got out school for christmas. My e-mails were so piled up and then to top it off, they had taken my computer to try and make it run faster and now I'm having to reinstall everything from the printer up.
