Both ways. You couldn't be sure, unless you try. You might wanna check some reliable torrent sites, I've never had a mistake there.

Limewire is not among my favorite programs to use. It is full of fakes, viruses, and yuck. Never take an .EXE from a file-sharing software program, you don't know what's in it. Whatever you download, scan it with a an antivirus program. And if the file seems too small to be a movie, it's a malware or a virus file.

I used to use limewire quite a bit and never had any problems with viruses. But like someone said a lot of the songs were fake. So you might want to look for something else other then limewire.

Executable & zip files are usually the ones which contain viruses...

When i used limewire, i am gifted with a lot more viruses than music.

It depends if you're good in sniffing out the good from the bad. One way to tell is the filesize of the download. No movie, music or game is ever the size of less than 1MB, in Limewire that is. It's a telltale sign that there's something not right. Check also if the download is rated or not. Rated downloads are -ok- though you should still do a virus scan on it, just in case. In any case, you should be aware of the downloads from Limewire. Not everything is safe there.

I never had luck with limewire. it always slowed my computer down. and i was told that you can get a virus from it i use ares ultra i have no problems with it at all you can use the free one or can pay around 30.00 dollars for a lifetime
